Surgeons General Liability

Nuts & Bolts: Avreco is now offering bariatric and general surgery physicians professional liability coverage. Eligible risks must be certified by the American Board of Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, and also a member of either the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons or the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Claims-made, incident-sensitive policy form available. One unique option is bariatric-only coverage for surgeons who want to continue their general surgery coverage with their existing carrier. Prior acts coverage is available subject to underwriting evaluation.

Dollars: Limits offered are up to $1 million per claim / $3 million per aggregate in most states with a mandatory $25,000 deductible.

Carrier: General Star, rated “A++” A.M. Best.

States: All except Ind., La., N.M., S.C., and N.Y.

Builders’ Risk

Nuts & Bolts: Britt Paulk Insurance Agency Inc. is offering a full line of builders risk coverage for transit, temporary storage, debris removal, fire department services, pollution clean up, trees, shrubs and plants, earth movement, flood, soft costs, loss of rental income and permission to occupy.

Dollars: Minimum premium is $300 residential; $500 commercial deductible; $500 residential; and $1,000 commercial.

Carrier: Admitted. Rated “A” by A. M. Best.

States: All except Hawaii.

Equipment

Nuts & Bolts: Britt Paulk Insurance Agency Inc. is offering an equipment policy program that includes agriculture, forestry, construction and lawn and garden. The coverage is a first party physical damage for contractors’ equipment. Classes include contractors, agricultural, forestry, cranes, wood yard/sawmill, utility, land lawn and garden.

Dollars: Commission varies. Deductible, $500 and minimum premium is $400.

Carrier: Rated “A” by A.M. Best.

States: All except Hawaii.

Printers’ Errors & Omissions

Nuts & Bolts: Hartford’s new printers’ errors and omissions coverage form pays the insured’s legal liability for an economic loss resulting from a negligent act, error or omission in connection with printing services performed by the insured. Printing services errors are usually found in copy (words, pictures), printing (color, placement), assembly and distribution of material. The basic E&O policy covers: Cost to recover work containing errors and cost to correct the work of subcontractors. The cost incurred to withdraw or inspect work because of known or suspected deficiencies in the work is also covered. The cost of postage paid, where the postage was properly applied, is included. Also offered is “correction of work” coverage, which pays for the cost to correct the insured’s errors.

Dollars: Limits, $1 million primary/
umbrella available up to $25 million. De-ductible: $1,000/$2,500/$5,000/$10,000.

Carrier: Admitted. No rating.

States: All.
