Liability Long Term Care Facilities
Nuts & Bolts: Houston, Texas-based London American Risk Specialists Inc. is offering CareSurance, a new liability insurance program designed to meet the needs of skilled, assisted and independent long term care (LTC) facilities across America. CareSurance starts with a comprehensive risk assessment of each facility and generates a quote based on the facility’s risk profile. The program also includes risk management tools from LTCQ Inc. that provide significant clinical, operational and financial benefits to the facility. Proven risk management tools in the CareSurance Program include a Data Integrity Audit of the Minimum Data Set done prior to state submission that includes instant online feedback on any inconsistencies. There is also a documentation check-off feature that ensures any exceptions or special circumstances are properly documented in the medical record.

Dollars: Limits to $5 million per claim and $15 million in the aggregate are available per nursing home, with deductibles from $10,000.

Sustainable Farm Program
Nuts & Bolts: Midlands Management Corporation, based in Oklahoma City, has launched a Sustainable Farm Insurance Program, a first of its kind, multi-line insurance program designed to meet the unique needs of agricultural farmers following sustainable farming practices. The program was developed after significant field research facilitated by the Pennsylvania Association for Sustain-able Agricul-ture, in Mil-heim, Pa. The program targets small local farms practicing sustainable agriculture. Community supported agriculture operations are acceptable. Coverage features products liability including direct sales to consumers and limited loss of income coverage.

Dollars: Aggregate limits three times the occurrence limit.

Insurance Agents E&O
Nuts & Bolts: The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents has a new market for insurance agents’ errors and omissions insurance through Lloyd’s, London, utilizing Lighthouse Underwriters LLC (a member company of U.S. Risk Insurance Group Inc.) as the preferred E&S broker for this coverage. This facility, established more than ten years ago, utilizes six syndicates for primary coverage and six for excess. In addition to placement through PIA National, applications will also be accepted through many PIA affiliates. Appli-cations will be accepted for virtually any size and type of agency with the exception of MGAs and wholesalers.

Dollars: Coverage limits range from $1million/$1million to $5million/$5million.

Accountants E&O
Nuts & Bolts: Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc.’s Professional Liability Division offers online quotes on Arrowhead Exchange for their accountants errors and omissions program. Their target market is small to medium private accounting firms (1 to 50 professionals), including CPAs, public accountants, enrolled agents, tax preparers, bookkeepers and other accounting professionals. Once producers have been appointed by Arrowhead’s Professional Liability Division and have received their login information to Arrowhead Exchange, they are presented with two options: a basic 12-question Quick Application for an immediate indication; or a full online application for an immediate quote.

Dollars: Limits $100,000 to $5 million.

New Business Owners Policy
Nuts & Bolts: Victor O. Schinnerer & Company Inc. has a new Business Owners Policy, with broader limits and coverage, and part of the DesignOne program. Policy changes include: off premises coverage may now equal insured’s business personal property limit; a blanket additional endorsement now includes a waiver of subrogation at no additional charge. Limits to $300,000 for fire legal liability; limits to $25,000 for employee dishonesty; and limits to $50,000 for computers. P/C coverage is provided within the DesignOne program, which also offers professional, pollution, employment practices and other business insurance to architects, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors and specialty construction consultants.

Dollars: Property limit is $9 million; liability, $1 million to $2 million.
Carrier: CNA, rated “A-” by A. M. Best. Admitted.
States: All.

Non-Profit Organization D&O Liability
Nuts & Bolts: Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc. has a new not-for-profit directors and officers program designed to insure small to medium IRS tax-exempt 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations. Included policy features: insured includes the organization, its subsidiaries, and any past, present or future director, trustee, officer, employee, volunteer, member of staff, faculty or committee; broad definition of claims; automatic coverage for acquired or created subsidiaries with assets less than 20 percent of the total assets of the entity; no retroactive date.

Dollars: Limits of liability are $500,000 or $1 million. (Higher limit may be considered).
Carrier: RLI Insurance Co. rated “A+” by A. M. Best. Admitted.
States: All except Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New York, Oklahoma, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
