Tow Truck Operators

Nuts & Bolts: Swiss Re’s Commercial Insurance and BISYS launched a program for tow truck operators. Policies are underwritten by Westport Insurance Corp. a Swiss Re company, and are backed by Swiss Re. The program provides specialty underwriting for a full complement of coverage for towing risks. It entertains risks for professional towers, including those with service garages and body shops. Coverage includes commercial auto liability, physical damage, general liability, inland marine and property. An added benefit is a paperless submission process that allows agents to utilize electronic, fillable ap-plications, and all submission requirements and applications are available online at www.BiSYSPC.com.

Dollars: Up to $1 million/$2 million aggregate.

Lawyers Excess Layer

Nuts & Bolts: Swiss Re’s Commercial Insurance is now offering excess layer coverage for law firms. The product is designed to follow the form of the underlying policy, features a broad range of attachment points and is available in all 50 states.

Spill Cover

Nuts & Bolts: IPA Risk Management has a new spill cover product which provides coverage to pay for the clean up costs when a vehicle spills its load onto the roadway.

Dollars: Starts at $50,000, up to $1,000,000 subject to approval. Minimum premium is $1,000; deductible, $2,000.

Carrier: Lloyd’s of London rated “A+” by A.M. Best. Non-admitted.

Financial Institutions

Nuts & Bolts: Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. added a new coverage to its American Bankers Association (ABA)-sponsored Financial Institution Program. The new coverage, Privacy Liability and Mitigation Expense, is designed to address bankers’ concerns regarding privacy and identity theft issues, and is now available in most states. Covering banks’ liability arising from unauthorized access to confidential customer information, Privacy Liability and Mitigation Expense also provides reimbursement for banks’ post-security breach expenses, including customer notification, account reissuance, credit monitoring services to detect potential fraud and public relations counsel, if needed. Progressive’s Financial Institution Program is sold by independent agents countrywide and is endorsed by 27 state bankers associations. It offers community banks directors and officers, Internet banking, fiduciary and employment practices liability coverages, as well as financial institution bond and other related insurance products.

Dollars: Up to $5 million.

Logging and Lumbering

Nuts & Bolts: O’Donovan & Associates’ Timber Harvester Program provides customized coverage for the contractor who harvests and hauls timber and related products. Mechanized and manual cutting operations are included. Related timber dealers with storage facilities may also be included. Office Pac/Manufacturers Pac Plus

Nuts & Bolts: Travelers Select Accounts is now offering Technology Office Pac and Technology Manufacturers Pac Plus. The two new segments are a part of Master Pac, Travelers’ business owner’s policy for small commercial insurance. They cover the risks associated with small technology-focused businesses and provide two newly added optional endorsements for those who want to enhance their insurance coverage. The new products address more than 25 specific coverage features important for technology businesses, including Denial of Service Attack and coverage extensions found in Travelers’ XTEND Endorsement. Technology Office Pac is tailored for businesses like computer consultants, software firms, or Web site designers. Technology Manufacturers Pac Plus provides coverage for businesses that manufacture technology products. As part of the core Master Pac coverage offering, Denial of Service Attack protects businesses from loss of revenue or income due to the necessary suspension of electronic computer operations caused by an attack that denies customers access to the business via the Internet.

Dollars: $2 million/$4 million general liability; umbrella, $25 million. Denial of Service Attack provides coverage up to $25,000 and is attached to every technology account that has business income and extra expense coverage. Denial of Service Attack is available for non-technology businesses up to a limit of $10,000.

Carrier: Travelers rated “A+” by A.M. Best. Admitted.

States: All except Alaska and Hawaii.
