Errors & Omissions

Nuts & Bolts: Swiss Re launched non-admitted errors and omissions coverage for members of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America. The product is designed for agencies with unique operations and special needs, where coverage customization is critical. Larger agencies with expanded product offerings or with unusual ownership structures, agencies specializing in higher-hazard coverages (such as wet marine or long-haul trucking), and less experienced agencies and even agencies with significant losses are aggressively being pursued. Policies are underwritten and claims handled by the same team at Swiss Re that services the Big I’s admitted program. Deductibles start at $5,000.

Dollars: $5 million per claim/$10 million aggregate.

Carrier: First Specialty Insurance Corp. rated “A+” by A.M. Best. Non-admitted.

States: All.

Real Estate Service Professionals E&O

Nuts & Bolts: Network E&S has markets writing E&O coverage on all types of property/real estate service professionals. It also has a market that will entertain real estate agents that provide mortgage brokerage services or title/escrow services.

Dollars: Up to $5 million.

Carrier: Rated “A” by A.M. Best. Non-admitted.

States: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Washington.

Private Investigators & Detectives

Nuts & Bolts: Brownyard Programs Ltd. offers specialty general liability and E&O programs for private investigators and detectives. The company also writes security guard companies, alarm companies, background screening companies, and armored car companies.

Carrier: Executive Risk & Lexington, rated “A++” by A.M. Best.

States: All.

Luxury Home Builders

Nuts & Bolts: Quaker Special Risk has a program for luxury home builders building homes that have a sale price of $350,000 and up. Coverage is provided for new home construction including incidental remodeling and renovations. The focus of the program is single-family home construction and does not extend to condominiums or town homes. New ventures will be considered with adequate prior construction experience. The program is for accounts that build up to 15 homes per year.

Dollars: $1 million/$2 million/$2 million.

Carrier: Rated “A” XV by A.M. Best. Admitted.

States: All, except Arizona, California, Colorado Nevada and Washington.
