Residential Construction

Nuts & Bolts: Bliss & Glennon has two products for the residential construction market, offering coverage for custom home builders and spec home builders with remodeling, and residential repair and service contractors.

Product 1, the custom home builders and spec home builders with remodeling product, is available for up to 15 homes or residential units per year. Features include spec homes based on payroll and work subbed cost; custom homes based on rate per 1,000 of sales; includes U.S.-manufactured modular, prefabricated and kit homes; blanket additional insured endorsement offered; willing to consider flat land exposure subsidence buyback; no action over exclusion; new ventures accepted with a statement of qualification; includes work in progress-not completed and/or sold prior to policy period inception; $1,000/$1,000/$1,000 subcontractor insurance requirement.

Product 2, the residential repair and service contractors product, has the following features: no action over exclusion; blanket additional insured endorsement offered; includes interior condo and townhome work, excluding framing, roofing, foundations, exterior walls, siding and sheathing; new ventures accepted with a statement of qualification; and $1,000/$1,000/$1,000 subcontractor insurance requirement.

Dollars: Product 1 minimum premiums are $20,000 for up to five homes or residential units per year; $25,000 for six to 15 homes or residential units per year; $25,000 for U.S.-manufactured, modular, prefabricated and kit homes. Minimum deductible is $2,500. For Product 2, minimum premium is $20,000, minimum deductible is $2,500.

Security Guards

Nuts & Bolts: Brownyard Group’s program for security guard firms has been expanded by Brownyard to include limits up to $5 million. Coverage includes general liability, excess/ umbrella liability, workers’ compensation, property, auto, and first- and third-party dishonesty coverage. Brownyard is underwritten by Arch Insurance Group and distributed solely through independent insurance agents. Non-admitted in all states except New York.

Dollars: Up to $5 million.

Carrier: Arch Insurance Group, rated “A-” XU by A.M. Best. Admitted.

States: All, except Wyoming.

Logging & Contracting Equipment

Nuts & Bolts: Daigle & Associates Inc. is offering inland marine coverage for logging, contracting, road construction and agricultural equipment. This is an “A” rated admitted program.

Dollars: Varies.

Carrier: Rated “A” by A. M. Best. Admitted.

States: All, except Alaska, Hawaii and Wyoming.
