Nuts & Bolts: ELM Insurance is offering privacy protection coverage for electronic and non-electronic security events including phishing, social engineering and physical theft; sub-limited coverage for 1798* security breach; breach of statute including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and GLB (Gramm Leach Bliley Act of 1999); breach of confidence, or violation/infringement of any rights to privacy; infringement of intellectual property rights, dress, cyber squatting, moral rights violations or any act of passing-off defamation; and negligent transmission of a computer virus, worm, logic bomb or Trojan horse.

EPLI for Law Firms

Nuts & Bolts: SUA Inc. is offering employment practices liability insurance for law firms with up to 100 employees in all 50 states that includes coverage for allegations of harassment, discrimination and wrongful employment practices. Additional coverages available include third-party exposures, punitive damages (where insurable) and defense outside the limit of indemnity. Claim triggers include written demand (lawsuit/agency charge/of complaint) and/or oral complaint.

Lawyers Professional Liability

Nuts & Bolts: EPerils is offering lawyers professional liability coverage. Professional services include escrow services, title agent, arbitrator and/or mediator. Coverage extends to past, present and future members and employees of the firm; heirs, executors and administrators of insureds. Claim includes civil, criminal, administrative or arbitration proceedings. There is no retention for disciplinary and grievance proceedings. Deductibles start at $1,000. Defense is provided for claims alleging dishonest, fraudulent, criminal or malicious acts of omissions. There is innocent partner protection. Coverage is for reasonable legal fees and expenses for the investigation of or defense in a state licensing board proceeding.

Medispa and Ambulatory Surgery Centers

Nuts & Bolts: Apogee Insurance Group is offering coverage for ambulatory surgery centers and entity coverage for: orthopedics, cosmetic surgery, gynecology, oral surgery, urology, general surgery and others. Medispa procedures covered include injectibles such as botox, as well as chemical peels, microdermabrasion and others. Bodily injury coverage includes physical injury, sickness, disease, mental anguish or emotional distress. Innocent principal coverage is available. The professional incident definition has been broadened to include persons acting under control, directions or supervision of an insured. Occurrence general liability coverage is available with $1 million/$1 million limits starting at a $2,500 additional premium. Coverage for a medical director can be included. Medical malpractice for doctors is not available.

Nuts & Bolts: MarketScout is offering commercial general liability or products on a claims made basis, defense inside the limits. Target risks include accounts with 20 or fewer products, new ventures and importers. Herbals, botanicals, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and extracts for human and animal consumption are covered. Program includes some products for weight gain/loss and sexual performance.

Recreational Marine Package

Nuts & Bolts: Maritime Central is offering a program for the recreational marine industry including all standard coverages (building, BPP, EDP, crime general liability, etc.) along with marine coverages. Marinas, rental boats, boat dealers, boat repair, boat manufacturers, boat janitorial, campsite/RV marinas, marinas with cabin rentals are included. Umbrella, auto and workers’ compensation coverage are also included. The program is written with Gemini (part of the W.R. Berkley Group), but Maritime is appointed to work with other companies if necessary.
