On Aug. 25, the proposed broker fee regulations were approved by the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) and were filed with the Secretary of State. This means they are now regulations, with an effective date of Nov. 23, 2000. According to the American Agents Alliance, the Department of Insurance will be conducting seminars on the new regulations throughout California, and the Alliance plans to be involved with this through its monthly local meetings.
