TDI TO HOLD COMPLIANCE CLASSES:

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has scheduled free compliance workshops to assist property/casualty and life/health insurers and agents in understanding and meeting Texas´ regulatory requirements. The workshops will be held on June 2 and 3, 2004, on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. After a general session providing an overview of the 78th Legislative session and a tour of TDI´s Web site, attendees for the PC workshop may attend sessions on: P/C Rate Filings; P/C Form Filings; An Overview of Recent Rules and Bulletins; P/C Filing Requirements; SERFF Overview – Question and Answer Session; Practical Agent Licensing Strategies and Successes; TDI Complaints Process; Insurance Fraud Hot Topics; and Financial Hot Topics. Seating is limited to the first 200 respondents. The department requests that no more than two staff members per company attend. The department will fax a confirmation packet with directions from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, along with a list of local hotels and restaurants.
