Louis Snage Jr.

Venture Programs, a provider in the design and underwriting of select industry-focused insurance packages, has named Louis Snage Jr. senior vice president for its southeast and south central regions.

Snage has 33 years of insurance experience, including senior leadership roles for property/casualty companies in field operations, underwriting management and sales management.

Most recently he served as vice president of St. Paul Insurance Company in Atlanta, where he was responsible for a 13-state territory in the southeast and south central United States for small commercial lines of business. His experience also includes senior level positions with USF&G and Fireman’s Fund. Snage received his CPCU designation in 1983.

Based in the new Atlanta office of Venture Programs, Snage will be responsible for overall management, underwriting and marketing for existing business lines, as well as new company initiatives in these regions.

Jill Bookman

American Collectors Insurance Inc.—a national specialty provider of collector vehicle and collectibles insurance—announced the promotion of two senior executives: Jill Bookman to chief executive officer; and Melissa Trought to chief operating officer and chief financial officer.

Melissa Trought

Bookman—previously vice president, sales and marketing—said her vision includes expanding the availability of the company’s collector vehicle and valuable collectibles policies by further developing the company’s distribution capabilities. She also aims to enhance the company’s track record in customer service and technology.

Trought—formerly vice president, operations—said her focus is to continually seek ways to speed and streamline the customer’s experience with American Collectors. She managed the company’s digital imaging project, now in its second expansion, which has allowed many operations to be managed on a “paperless” basis.

Joseph Beneducci

Joseph Beneducci has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co., reporting to Charles Kavitsky, president and CEO.

Beneducci was formerly executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Reporting to Beneducci in his new role will be the company’s four business segments (Personal, Commercial, Marine and Interstate/Agribusiness) as well as Distribution Management and Marketing, Brand Development and Enterprise Operations.

Beneducci joined Fireman’s Fund in 1998 after a 10-year career at Chubb & Sons.

Lawrence Cook

ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of The ACE Group of Cos., announced the appointment of Lawrence Cook as vice president, ACE Captive Solutions.

Cook, who will be based in New York City, has more than 20 years of captive and alternative risk financing experience. Most recently, he served as a director with Risk Design Group (RDG), an alternative insurance and risk financing services consulting firm.

Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher announced the reappointment of Madisonville Judge Richard Joiner as an administrative law judge in the Department of Workers Claims.

An administrative law judge conducts conferences and hearings to decide disputes arising under the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Act. These issues include disputes about entitlement to and amount of income benefits, disputes concerning reasonableness and necessity of medical benefits, and disputes arising as a result of the commissioner’s investigation of alleged unfair practices.

Joiner has served as administrative law judge in the Office of Workers’ Claims since 2001. Before this, Joiner worked as the managing attorney of Mitchell, Joiner & Hardesty P.S.C. and was member/manager of Midsouth Infotech Services LLC in Madisonville.

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue announced the election of Richard McGee to serve as administrator of the Subsequent Injury Trust Fund. Perdue made his recommendation to the board and on April 28, the Subsequent Injury Trust Fund Board of Trustees approved McGee.

The Administrator of the Subsequent Injury Trust Fund has the responsibility of keeping disabled workers in the workforce as well as giving employers the financial incentive to employ them.

Since 1972, McGee, 64, has owned and operated McGee Realty Co. He served at the Georgia Department of Labor for more than 14 years, including four years as deputy commissioner.

Insurance services provider Gilsbar Inc. announced the addition of Neal Hennegan to its management team.

Hennegan joins Gilsbar as the director of Information Systems and is responsible for the management of information systems resources and processes throughout the corporation. He brings more than 25 years experience in technical business systems. Most recently, he served in progressive roles including manager of technical services, business systems and applications delivery and support for the Shell Cos.

Gilsbar offers various services including third-party administration, plan management and quality insurance products.

Bristol West Holdings Inc. announced that Craig Eisenacher has been appointed senior vice president and CFO of the company.

Eisenacher has been the company’s senior vice president – corporate finance since December 2003 and he will retain those responsibilities. Previously, Eisenacher was the CFO of Prudential Re-Insurance Co. from 1989-1993. He also has held senior management positions in the finance area with several other insurance and reinsurance companies, including General Reinsurance Corp., CIGNA Property and Casualty Group, and American Re-Insurance Co.
