Chantelle Burton

Chantelle Burton joined Heath Insurance Brokers in the company’s Houston office as a professional and financial services broker. Prior to joining Heath, Burton was an associate director at Myron Steves Mid-Continent General Agency where she was responsible for underwriting production and management of the company’s allied health care book of business. Prior to Myron Steves, Burton served as the major accounts specialist for Hartford Insurance Group’s Houston office handling large casualty programs that generated premium greater than $1 million. She has also worked as a senior underwriter at AIG.

Carolyn Wagner

Carolyn Wagner, commercial lines manager for MaximInsurance and an employee for 15 years, was selected 2004 Woman of the Year by the Bay Area Vision Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). Woman of the Year award recipients are chosen based on ABWA participation, education, career accomplishments and community involvement. A loyal ABWA member for many years, she has served in almost every elected office for the organization. The Bay Area Vision Chapter also nominated Wagner for the Top Ten Business Women of ABWA, an honor for which she will be competing nationally.

Marilyn Jacoby

Marilyn Jacoby joined the Dallas/Fort Worth office of Farmington Hills, Mich.-based national specialty insurance wholesaler, underwriter and managing general agent Burns & Wilcox Ltd., in the position of underwriter. In her new position, Jacoby is responsible for quoting, placing and servicing the branch’s wide range of excess and surplus lines. Prior to joining Burns & Wilcox, Jacoby served over 20 years in both the retail and wholesale sides of the industry. Jacoby recently earned an associate degree as a paralegal. She has also earned CISR certification.

Andrew Grande

Houston area-based MaximInsurance added a new associate to its team of insurance professionals. Andrew Grande joined the company as a producer, specializing in new sales for businesses. Grande recently graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in management.

Brian Cohen

Brian S. Cohen was named senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Farmers Insurance Group, responsible for the company’s marketing and sales efforts. Cohen previously served as president of Farmers Financial Solutions L.L.C., where he was responsible for starting up Farmers’ financial services division. He joined Farmers in 1997 as vice president of corporate development.

U.S. Risk Insurance Group Inc. announced that Genia Walden, Carrie Keel and Joan Corder have joined U.S. Risk Underwriters in the company’s Dallas office.

Walden will be a member of the Commercial Underwriting Division as a senior underwriter. She brings over 25 years of experience in underwriting, management and account development.

As an underwriter assistant, Keel has 19 years of brokerage and underwriting experience in the excess and surplus marketplace.

Corder was most recently with a Texas MGA and will focus on health care as an underwriter assistant.

New Orleans-based Hartwig Moss Benefits has added Gerry Call as a benefits consultant. A native of New Orleans, Call has worked in the employee benefits field for over 21 years—as both an account executive and sales manager with major health insurance carriers such as Aetna and Maxicare.

In 1999, Call formed a benefits consulting firm known as Benefits and Insurance Solutions LLC. Though his business has grown dramatically over this time, Hartwig Moss Benefits said it offered Call a portfolio of innovative and unique customer service solutions unavailable elsewhere in this market.

Hull & Company announced two staff changes in its Dallas office.

Donna Boyd joined the Dallas office as a senior account executive, placing contract and brokerage business for Texas retail agents. Boyd is a seasoned Excess & Surplus lines broker with 31 years insurance experience, including six years with a retail agency, 11 years with an insurance company and 14 years as a wholesale broker.

Sherry Alton was promoted to account executive. Alton has been with Hull’s Dallas office for three years, and was formerly an account executive assistant. She will also be placing contract business for Texas agents.

Austin-based The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research announced that Joseph R. Buick, account executive with Hylant Group in Toledo, Ohio, recently became the 1,000th individual to earn the Certified Risk Managers (CRM) designation.

The CRM designation recognizes individuals who have demonstrated advanced risk management knowledge and expertise by attending five, 20-hour courses and passing rigorous examinations in the areas of Principles of Risk Management, Control of Risk, Analysis of Risk, Finance of Risk, and Practice of Risk Management.

Buick will be recognized at a special presentation during the CRM conferment at the James K. Ruble MEGAbration Seminar in Dallas, in October. Hylant Group will be given a scholarship to a future CRM course.

Buick entered the insurance/risk management industry with Hylant Group eight years ago.

Lindsey Morden Group Inc., headquartered in Toronto, named Jan Christiansen the new president and chief executive officer of Lindsey Morden and Cunningham Lindsey U.S. Inc. Christiansen has 30 years of global experience in a variety of industries.

Through its subsidiaries, Lindsey Morden Group provides a wide range of independent insurance claims services, including claims adjusting, appraisal and claims and risk management services.
