John Rogan

John E. Rogan has been elected president and chief executive officer, and Richard L. Ervin Jr., executive vice president and chief financial officer of Sunshine State Insurance Co. of Ponte Vedra, Fla. The appointments were announced by John Lombardo, board chairman. Both employees joined Sunshine State in 1999.

Rogan was previously Sunshine State’s vice president of marketing and commercial underwriting. Prior to joining Sunshine State, he was vice president of CGU Insurance Co. in Maitland, Fla. He integrated the Florida operations of General Accident and Commercial Union after the two companies merged. Earlier, he was vice president and agency manager of Naughton Insurance Services in Jacksonville, Fla., a multi-line agency writing business across the U.S. For six years he served as vice president with CIGNA Property and Casualty Co.’s in Jacksonville.

Janet Warren

Ervin served as CFO at three insurance companies in 18 years. He was previously Sunshine State’s vice president and CFO. Previously, Ervin was senior vice president, CFO and director of American Surety and Casualty in Jacksonville. He was previously vice president, CFO and director of Old Dominion Insurance Company in Jacksonville.

Shirley Fritch

Sunshine State recently merged with QualSure Insurance Co. in Sarasota, Fla. and is growing its operations in South Carolina where Sunshine writes homeowners and builders’ risk insurance.
Janet Warren has been appointed senior vice president and claims practice leader of Atlanta-based Beecher Carlson Holdings Inc. Warren will be responsible for establishing and managing Beecher Carlson’s claims practice focusing on providing superior brokerage claims services.

Christopher Will

Warren has more than 20 years insurance industry experience. In 2002, prior to joining Beecher Carlson, she served as vice president and claims manger for Willis of Georgia. Warren also was vice president and claims consulting team leader at Marsh in Atlanta. In 1996 she was with Johnson & Higgins. At both Willis and Marsh, she coordinated teams to provide claims consulting and advocacy services to a range of clients including many Fortune 100 companies. Warren began her insurance career with Crawford & Co. in Michigan.

Shirley Fritch, FARA’s special investigative unit.

Fritch is responsible for the overall direction and management of FARA’s Texas branch offices, as well as the FARA branch offices in Lafayette, La., Shreveport, La., and Jackson, Miss. She will continue to be based in Houston.

Fritch joined FARA in 1986 as an adjuster trainee and was promoted the following year. In 1990 she was appointed adjuster in charge, followed by promotion to manager of two branch locations. In 1995 Fritch began overseeing all operations in north Louisiana. She later managed the Boca Raton, Fla., office, leading operations in this area to exponential growth. In 1988, Fritch was named assistant vice president of operations.

In his new position, Will is responsible for all operations and business development for FARA Security Services. He will remain based in Mandeville.

In 1998, Will joined FARA as manager of FARA Security Services. He was previously a claims director for Equifax; and later joined ChoicePoint, where he supervised claims investigations in Louisiana, Alabama and Arkansas. During his tenure Will also supervised the pre-employment and records collections divisions.

Maggie Lopez has been named senior vice president-Marketing at Uni-Ter Underwriting Management Corp., a Georgia-based provider of professional liability insurance to the health care industry.

Lopez brings more than 25 years of experience in professional liability to Uni-Ter. Her recent assignments include captive formation and development of other risk financing vehicles for large health care system clients. She has held senior positions with Marsh USA, McNeary Insurance Services, MAG Mutual Insurance Co. and FPIC.
