Westfield Insurance of Westfield Center, Ohio, named Scott Jurek senior executive, claims field operations, Western division. In this capacity, Jurek helps set and execute the claims strategy for Westfield while working collaboratively with business partners in commercial lines, personal lines and agribusiness to bring value to customers in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Arizona and New Mexico. Jurek began his career at Westfield in 2001, previously serving as regional claims executive in our Midwest claims region. He was responsible for ensuring service excellence to policyholders through the delivery of prompt, fair and professional claim service in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

In other appointments, Westfield named Michael Prandi senior executive, complex claims and litigation, and Terry McClaskey as executive, personal lines underwriting practices.

Prandi, who is responsible for the litigation management of all claims as well as all subrogation recoveries, began his career at Westfield in 1989 and has served as service office manager in Venice, Florida and Louisville, Kentucky and regional executive in Westfield’s southern region. Most recently, he was the executive director of the large loss unit, where he was responsible for reserved indemnity payments totaling more than $400 million annually. McClaskey joined Westfield in 2000 with nearly 10 years of insurance experience. Most recently, he was the director of personal lines business planning.

Westfield Insurance provides commercial and personal insurance and surety services to customers in 28 states through more than 1,200 independent insurance agencies.

Harleysville Insurance has named Thomas W. Glancy assistant vice president of its Midwest claims service center. In this new role, Glancy is responsible for directing all activities of the claims center, which is located in Edina, Minn.

Prior to this appointment, Glancy served as assistant vice president of the company’s Mid-Atlantic claims service center in Moorestown, N.J. Before that, he was regional president and chief operating officer of Harleysville Insurance Company in Edina. He originally joined Harleysville in 2001 as assistant vice president of the company’s Midwest claims service center.

Harleysville Insurance, based in Harleysville, Pa., is a regional provider of insurance products and services for small and mid-sized businesses, as well as for individuals.

Korn/Ferry International, provider of executive search, outsourced recruiting and leadership development solutions, announced that two new partners have joined the firm’s Chicago office. Mary M. Noonan has been named senior client partner, and Jamie Pruett has been named client partner. Both are a part of Korn/Ferry’a Financial Services Markets.

Noonan specializes in recruiting insurance and reinsurance professionals, and brings to Korn/Ferry three decades of insurance industry expertise in a variety of senior management positions. Most recently, Noonan served as chief underwriting and operations officer for Interstate Insurance Group. Prior to that, she was the president of the Chicago office of a reinsurance broker. Previously, she also served for 25 years with global reinsurance companies General Reinsurance and Swiss Re.

Pruett will focus on the real estate sector. He joins Korn/Ferry from Equinox Partners, where he started up and established their Chicago office. Prior to that, Pruett worked for Russell Reynolds Associates.

Korn/Ferry International, based in Los Angeles, with more than 70 offices in 35 countries, provides executive search, outsourced recruiting and leadership development solutions.

ProCentury Corporation announced that Charles Hamm, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will be leaving the company to assume the position of president of Evergreen National Indemnity and Continental Heritage Insurance Company, privately owned Columbus, Ohio based insurance companies.

Hamm will provide consulting services to ProCentury under a consulting agreement, which services include guidance on matters related to Sarbanes- Oxley compliance, among a variety of other matters.

Hamm has been with the company since 2002, and has served the company as a senior vice president and most recently as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Also at ProCentury, Erin West has been promoted to chief financial officer. West has served as the CFO of Century Surety Company (ProCentury’s primary operating company) since 2004, and has been responsible for the overall financial functions of the subsidiary including planning and analysis, external reporting, regulatory requirements and accounting and financial processes.

West joined the company in 2001 after spending four years with KPMG LLP. She is a certified public accountant, and holds a B.A. in business administration and accounting with an emphasis on finance from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.

The company also announced today that Nathan Voorhis has been promoted to senior vice president of the company.

Voorhis joined the company in 2003 and serves as the company’s chief actuary. With his promotion to senior vice president, his responsibilities will be expanded to include the management of the company’s IT department.

Prior to joining Century, Voorhis was an actuary at Nationwide Insurance. He has also worked for Demotech, Inc., Milliman USA and Transatlantic Reinsurance, in management, reserving and pricing roles.

ProCentury Corporation, Columbus, Ohio, is a specialty property and casualty insurance holding company. Its subsidiary, Century Surety Company, underwrites general liability, commercial property, and multi-peril insurance for small and mid-sized businesses. Century Surety Company primarily writes excess and surplus lines insurance.
