New York-based Navigators Group hired Paul Hennessy as president of Navigators Holdings (UK) Ltd. He will be responsible for Navigators’ operations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and will report to President and CEO Stan Galanski.

Hennessy has more than 35 years of international property/casualty underwriting and underwriting management experience. He spent 22 years with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and 10 years with CNA, including five years as chief underwriting officer of CNA Europe.

Atlanta-based insurance agency Beecher Carlson appointed Craig Nelson senior vice president. Nelson will focus on the development and management of accounts in the retail industry from the company’s Denver office. Nelson has 28 years of experience and specializes in large account risk management. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of business development for Denver-based Van Gilder Insurance Corp. He also served as president/equity partner for Denver-based Moreton & Co.. Prior to that, Nelson held executive positions with Lockton Companies and Aon Risk Services.

Hawaii-based Atlas Insurance Agency Inc. appointed Vincent T. Miyoi senior vice president in its Client Consulting Services division. Miyoi will continue to be responsible for the management of the Risk Consulting and Claims divisions. Miyoi has more than 16 years of insurance and risk management experience.

The company also appointed Russell Park senior vice president in its Client Consulting Group. With more than 20 years spent in the industry, Park has experience in commercial insurance including: alternative risk funding and risk management techniques, designing and implementing self-insured and captive programs, and review of contractual risk transfers.

Wells Fargo Insurance Services Inc. named Alan Boring senior vice president and sales executive in the Southern California region. Boring will specialize in upper middle market and large risk management accounts, with an emphasis on agriculture, food and food processing, retail chains and financial institutions. He will be based in the company’s Sherman Oaks, Calif., office.

Boring began his career in 1981 with INA Insurance Co., working as an underwriter in its Special Risk Facility. He subsequently moved to the brokerage side of the business, working for Marsh in the Large Accounts/Risk Management Consulting division and then in a similar capacity with Rollins Burdick Hunter and Aon.

ABD Insurance and Financial Services, a Wells Fargo company, added Janine McCaffery as sales executive in its Redwood City, Calif.-based construction and real estate insurance brokerage practice. McCaffery will focus on the needs of property owners, developers, home builders and others in the real estate and construction industries.

Previously McCaffery worked in the title insurance industry for 27 years.

Gina Russo opened independent insurance agency Trenchant Insurance Co. in Las Vegas, specializing in home, auto, life, health and flood Insurance for residential and commercial clients, as well as handling business insurance and bonds. As a broker, Trenchant represents a number of companies.

Russo, a native Las Vegan, recently received a Business Start Up Grant from Moms in Business Network. She started in the insurance field in 2000. For three years, she worked for a captive insurance company and then transitioned to the independent channel by starting an independent agency for a privately owned mortgage bank.

Woodruff-Sawyer & Co. announced that Chris Reiter joined the company’s North Bay, Calif., office as vice president of employee benefits. He will focus on client relationship management and employee benefits business development opportunities in a variety of industries, including wine, biotech/life sciences, technology and financial services.

Reiter has more than 12 years of experience in employee benefits, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. Previously, he spent two years with ABD Insurance Services as vice president, employee benefits.

John McGovern and Paul Duggan joined National E&S Insurance Brokers Inc., a specialty wholesale environmental insurance broker based in Palmdale, Calif. Both have experience selling and marketing environmental risks of all types.

McGovern will be based in the company’s New Jersey branch and will serve as president of the firm. Duggan will serve as executive vice president of the firm and will be based in the company’s Michigan branch office.

McGovern most recently was managing director of American Risk Management Resources Network. Prior to that, he worked at USI-Environmental Risk Mitigation Group as director-Northeast Region. He will concentrate on servicing retail agents in the Northeast and the Southeast regions.

Duggan most recently was senior vice president of American Risk Management Network. Prior to that, he was senior product sales manger for Aon Risk Services – Environmental Group. He also worked at Willis Corroon, Alexander & Alexander and Wausau Insurance Co.

Yates & Associates of Tustin, Calif., announced that Denise Plecas joined the underwriting department as underwriter/broker – new business P&C.

Plecas started as a receptionist at Hull & Co. in 2001 and worked her way up. In less than two years she was appointed assistant underwriter/assistant account executive, a position she held for three years, before moving to Brown & Brown as senior assistant account executive for the underwriting department.

Wendy Kufner joined Risk Placement Services Inc. in Scottsdale, Ariz., as an underwriter/broker. She will be responsible for development of binding and brokerage business in 10 western states.

Michelman & Robinson named David Hauge a partner in its Los Angeles office. He brings more than 30 years of experience in insurance regulatory law to the Firm’s Insurance Regulation Practice Group.

Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. appointed Darryl Page president for the Personal Insurance division, and appointed Greg Meyer senior vice president, product management for the Personal Insurance division.

Page joins Fireman’s Fund from Allstate Insurance Co. He has 27 years of insurance experience, most recently serving as vice president, western market operating committee.

Meyer joins Fireman’s Fund from Zurich Insurance, where he was a senior vice president overseeing small business and commercial automobile programs. Prior to Zurich, he worked for Allstate. He also spent seven years at The Progressive Corp.

Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (E.P.I.C.), a retail property, casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage, appointed Michael La Fleur principal in its San Mateo, Calif., office.

La Fleur comes from a full-service global insurance brokerage, where he was a vice president. He has provided risk management and insurance counsel to companies of all sizes for more than 20 years.

Nautilus Insurance Group, comprised of Nautilus Insurance Co. and Great Divide Insurance Co., member companies of W.R. Berkley Corp., appointed Miklos F. Kallo vice president -Finance and Accounting.

Kallo joins Nautilus from Preferred Employers Insurance Co., another W.R. Berkley member company, where he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Heritage General Agency hired Diane G. Rusk as underwriting supervisor in the company’s Irvine, Calif., office. She will assist Julie Savage, senior vice president/branch manager of the Irvine office, in the overall operations of the office.

Rusk previously has worked for the Empire Insurance Agency, Triesco Insurance Services and Yates & Associates.
