TD Insurance Inc. has hired Linda Bogardus as an account manager in the Core Division of Commercial Lines. Bogardus, who is based in Burlington, Vermont, will oversee marketing and servicing large commercial insurance accounts throughout the region. She has more than 23 years of experience in commercial insurance. Prior to joining TD Insurance, she served as an Associate Account Executive with Hackett, Valine & MacDonald.

MetLife Auto & Home has hired two sales execs to head up its growth plans for New Jersey. Kelli Rettig and Patrick Flaherty have both been named regional sales managers. Rettig will oversee southern New Jersey while Flaherty will oversee the northern part of the state. Rettig most recently worked for Travelers Insurance Co. as a sales executive. She previously served as director of market practices at The Hartford and as senior territory sales manager for Progressive. Flaherty most recently worked for Electric Insurance Co. as a regional sales manager. He also has held previous positions at Palisades Safety and Insurance and New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance.

Kendra Corman has joined Burns & Wilcox as its new marketing director. Corman is responsible for managing the company’s advertising and marketing initiatives, which includes overseeing new product launches and developing e-mail marketing strategies, agent incentive programs and advertising campaigns to support Burns & Wilcox’s international presence. Prior to joining Burns & Wilcox, Corman was the advertising manager for Jeep at Chrysler.

Connecticut-based insurance consulting firm Conning & Co. has named Stephen W. Keep as director. An experienced marketing executive in U.S. insurance asset management, he will be based in Hartford. Keep will be responsible for marketing Conning’s investment services and products to insurance companies in the U.S. and Bermuda and will team with Conning’s Client Business Development group. Prior to joining Conning, Keep was business development manager for insurance companies at Wellington Management where he marketed a broad range of investment approaches to both regional and global insurers.

Narragansett Bay Insurance Co. has named Robert Brannan as assistant vice president-territory manager for New York. Brannan has 26 years of management experience in marketing, underwriting, and policy services for personal lines insurance. In his new position, he is responsible for the appointment and management of independent insurance agents in New York, and will oversee the agency training of NBIC’s home risk improvement tool. Brannan previously served as assistant vice president-territorial manager for ACE Private Risk Services, where he managed and provided product and system training for 40 agents in New York and New Jersey. He spent 22 years with Atlantic Mutual Insurance Co., where he managed 33 insurance agents in New York and New Jersey.

Boston-based medical liability insurer ProMutual Group has appointed Gregg L. Hanson as chief operating officer. Hanson previously served as the company’s senior vice president of Underwriting and also supervised the Marketing, Risk Management and Physician Education Departments. In his new capacity, Hanson will oversee the company’s Claims, Information Technology and Human Resources operations in addition to his current responsibilities. Prior to joining ProMutual Group in 2000, Hanson was senior vice president of Southern Operations and Underwriting for ProNational Insurance Co.

Safety National has opened regional underwriting office in New York, and has tapped industry veterans Sharon Herschlag and Dennis Zervos as regional underwriting managers. Herschlag brings over 30 years of claims and underwriting experience to Safety National from AIU, formerly known as AIG Risk Management Group. She most recently served as senior vice president, and was involved in managing AIG’s large excess units across the country. Zervos comes to Safety National with 26 years of underwriting experience, having spent the past 16 years with Zurich North America. He most recently served as vice president of Risk Management and was responsible for marketing and managing the company’s risk management casualty portfolio in the New York market area.

Massachusetts-based Rogers & Gray Insurance Agency Inc. has hired John P. Curley as a Commercial Lines Sales Account Executive. Curley, who is a former professional golfer, joined the agency in February and is based in its South Dennis office.

Tom Elder has joined the All Risks’ National Specialty Programs unit as the lead financial institutions underwriter for the new nationwide REO/Foreclosure and Lender Placed Property Insurance Program. At All Risks, he will target commercial banks, credit unions, savings and loans, mortgage banks, and financial institutions that service and/or invest in mortgage loans. Previously, Elder worked for MetLife Bank as a regional reverse mortgage consultant. Prior to that, he owned a mortgage company for six years.

Liberty International Underwriters, a division of Liberty Mutual Group, named Tim Kania as senior vice president of construction for its North and South America operations. An insurance executive for more than 20 years, Kania is also a licensed professional engineer. His experience and technical approach help him develop programs and underwriting protocols that address clients’ needs. In his new position, Kania will focus on the energy and heavy industries segments as well as construction all-risk projects.
