Brian Duperreault, president and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., has extended his employment with MMC through January 2014. Duperreault has held this position since January 2008. Prior to joining MMC, Duperreault served as CEO and later chairman of ACE Ltd., and in senior executive positions with American International Group.

Unisource Program Administrators (UPA), a workers’ compensation wholesaler, has expanded services to all 50 states.

In addition, the company named Barbara Drollinger, a 20-year workers’ compensation expert, vice president of strategic relations. Drollinger previously served as vice president of insurance operations for CompSource Oklahoma. She launched the company’s agent program.

UPA is headquartered in Oklahoma City, with a processing office Sarasota, Fla.

California State Compensation Insurance Fund has named Shaun Coyne as its new chief Information officer. Coyne will lead State Fund’s drive to build its information technology capabilities. Coyne has 29 years of experience in IT. Most recently he served for six years as vice president and CIO of Toyota Financial Services in Torrance, California. Prior to his tenure at Toyota, Coyne worked as a vice president and chief technology officer of General Electric.

Woodruff-Sawyer & Co., San Francisco, announced that Lauri Floresca has joined the firm as senior director, corporate clients in the Corporate and Executive Protection Practice. In her new position, Floresca will lead new business development activities and provide strategic risk management consultation for public and private organizations.

Floresca has 15 years’ experience in the insurance brokerage and risk management industry. Most recently, she worked as senior managing director at Carpenter Moore, where she managed all intellectual property and authored a directors and officers peer benchmarking report. Prior to Carpenter Moore, she managed a nine-state territory for Chubb’s Wholesale Executive Protection Practice.

Insurance Professionals of Santa Barbara has named Cynthia Acosta, of Brown and Brown of California Inc., its new secretary for the 2009-2010 term. She replaces Barbara Terry, of the Bill Terry Insurance Agency.

Other members of the current 2009-2010 board of directors include: Jillian Knight, CRIS of Westcap Insurance Services, Inc., president; Carmen Danalevich, of HUB of CA Insurance Services, vice president; and Amanda Benner, of Brown & Brown of California Inc., treasurer.

The California Council of NAIW named several award winners at its recent annual meeting in Fresno, Calif. The AAMGA Award winner was Kathleen Kerstenbeck from San Diego Insurance Women. Kerstenbeck has been in the insurance industry 25 years and currently is an executive account manager with CMR Risk & Insurance Services in San Diego. Kerstenbeck also was elected the new California Council Director for NAIW.

The Young Professional of the Year Award Winner was Victoria Lovinggood of Insurance Women of San Gabriel Valley. Wendy Pike was awarded the Gayle Reskin Angel Award for her work and dedication behind the scenes of CA Council of NAIW, International. The award is presented to a member that would not otherwise be recognized and is given in memory of the late Gayle Reskin.

Charlotte, N.C.-based specialty insurance broker AmWINS Group, Inc. has named Ben Francavilla as president of AmWINS Program Underwriters (APU).

In this role, Francavilla will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of APU, a managing general agency specializing in affinity and program management. Based in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, APU administers more than 20 programs generating in excess of $110 million in premium, according to the firm. Francavilla joined APU in 1993 and most recently served as its senior managing director as well as director of program development for AmWINS’ underwriting division.

Francavilla succeeds Larry Bitner who recently announced his retirement after serving as president of APU for 10 years.
