Insurance broker Lockton Southeast recently added Veronica Corkan to its team of benefits experts as vice president and unit manager in Atlanta.

She joins Lockton after having served as a senior health and welfare consultant at Towers Perrin. Corkan has 20 years of experience consulting in employee group benefits and has worked with Fortune 1000 and middle market clients. She has worked in a number of industries, most recently in healthcare, high tech, chemicals and manufacturing.

Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), a division of Liberty Mutual Group, restructured its U.S. Specialty Casualty unit, making the following organizational changes:

Carl Pursiano has been named chief underwriting officer, U.S. specialty casualty and senior vice president. In this role, Pursiano will oversee management liability and professional liability for LIU U.S.

Trevor Howard has been named senior vice president of U.S. management liability in charge of all management liability operations.

Christopher DePuy has been named senior vice president in charge of lawyers professional liability (LPL) and accountants professional liability.

Georges Pigault has been named vice president of architects and engineers.

Michael Auerbach has been named vice president of allied health and miscellaneous programs.

Mark Blankenship joins LIU as assistant vice president of architects and engineers in Chicago.

National insurance program administrator Thomco promoted John Clark and Monica Clark (no relation) to senior vice president positions. Thomco, based in Kennesaw, Georgia, said the promotions are in recognition of their expanded duties and part of a long-term succession strategy. Each has more than 19 years employment with Thomco.

John Clark, previously vice president of Specialty Programs, has now taken over the Tanning Salon Division and elements of the firm’s Fitness Club business in addition to prior duties.

Monica Clark, previously vice president of Healthcare and Social Services, has added Childcare and Schools to her responsibilities.

Hartford, Conn.-based Specialty Risk Services (SRS) has appointed David Santschi as vice president, account management, for the Northeast and Southeast Regions. Santschi has 15 years of experience in the claims industry. Prior to joining SRS, he worked for a large, national carrier and a self-administered global food services company. He will continue to be based in Charlotte, N.C.

Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty announced staff changes on the communications staff for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.

Jack McDermott has been appointed director of communications. McDermott has been the acting communications director since July 2009. He will be responsible for overall media relations, public information, speechwriting and content of all OIR reports and publications. He has worked at the OIR for 13 years, including being a manager in the life and health market conduct section and as a senior policy analyst.

Brittany Benner has been appointed deputy director of communications. She will be responsible for daily interaction with the media, drafting press releases, as well as coordinating media events, including arranging press access, technology support, event planning and event production. Benner has been a correspondent for Gannett News Services since 2006.

Specialty insurer Ironshore Inc. has appointed Scott Fitzmaurice as regional executive for the Southeast. He will be responsible for business development in the Southeast. In this expanded role, he will retain his existing responsibilities with IronPro, Ironshore’s management liability division. Prior to joining Ironshore in January 2008, Fitzmaurice was a regional manager for AIG Management Liability.
