Boston-based medical liability insurer ProMutual Group has hired Diane Corjulo as a risk management consultant. Corjulo, a registered nurse, has broad acute care hospital experience and physician office practice expertise. She has worked at Yale-New Haven Medical Center and the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Conn., and as a traveling nurse. Her most recent position was chief operating officer for an active hematology-oncology practice with nine locations and 23 physicians.

Insurance broker William Gallagher Associates (WGA) has named Mike Kearney leader of the firm’s Boston-based Life Sciences practice and has also named Amy Sinclair as co-practice leader. Kearney is an executive vice president, and has been with WGA for 14 years. Sinclair is a senior vice president, has been with WGA for 15 years and has served as liaison for WGA’s strategic relationship with the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) for the past three years.

In addition, WGA has promoted Karen Cangemi and Michael Talmanson to vice presidents within the firm’s Boston-based Property and Casualty practice. Cangemi has been in the insurance industry for 10 years. Since her start at WGA in 2005, she has maintained superior client relationships, supported her WGA colleagues as a resource for Property and Transit coverages. Talmanson joined WGA in 2005 after practicing corporate law for over six years. He was an attorney with Testa, Hurwitz and Thibeault, Hale and Dorr (now WilmerHale) and the Feinberg Law Group.

Pennsylvania-based Glatfelter Public Practice, a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, has named Mark McCrary as president. McCrary previously served as regional vice president for the group, which is a public entity program manager. McCrary will oversee the division’s sales and marketing operations with a focus on strategic distribution relationships.

New Jersey-based insurance wholesaler Crump Group Inc. has named Scot H. Parnell executive vice president and chief financial officer. Parnell joins CGI from The Student Loan Corp., where he served as chief financial officer. Parnell rose through a series of finance positions at STU and Citi since joining in 2001. Prior to Citi, Parnell worked at MetLife and Browning Ferris Industries and Arthur Andersen. Parnell replaces Dave Obenauer, who is now president of Crump’s Property & Casualty Insurance Services division.

p:Washington D.C.-based specialty insurance brokerage Ames & Gough has appointed Tom Marchetti as a client executive. Marchetti will service existing clients and develop new relationships in the Washington, D.C. area, and other regions. He will also work with the firm’s growing property/casualty operation. Marchetti worked previously at United Insurance Consultants

Martin A. Schwartzman has been named deputy superintendent for Strategic Planning and Market Initiatives at the New York State Insurance Department. He will work to ensure that the department operates effectively. Among his responsibilities, Schwartzman will review agency procedures and processes and propose changes to ensure the department is as efficient as possible. He will also study the Department’s structure to make sure that it fits the current state of the insurance market. He previously served as assistant deputy superintendent and chief of the Life Bureau.

Keystone Insurers Group has named Erica Grimm as head of it Employee Benefits Division in Pennsylvania. Grimm previously represented Emerson Reid & Co. as broker relationship manager responsible for the Keystone relationship. She is a 16-year veteran in employee benefits management.

Linda Todd has been appointed director of Business Development for CNA’s Philadelphia branch. She will help shape and expand CNA’s market presence and sales culture, and will support the business insurer’s branches in Reading and Pittsburgh. She has previously worked with with national and regional carriers such as Liberty Mutual, Meadowbrook and Wausau.
