Scott Brock was appointed CEO of Dallas-based Goss Reinsurance Brokers Inc., the reinsurance brokerage division of U.S. Risk Insurance Group Inc. Brock will work with Chris Turner, president of Goss Re, to provide focused, personalized reinsurance program and capital market solutions to specialty insurance carriers, captives, risk retention groups and other specialty insurance operations.

Brock has spent his career in the reinsurance and insurance industry, and most recently served as a founding partner of Tobat Capital, a specialized private equity group focused on the financial services industry.

Goss Re also announced that Alexander (Alex) J. Fox joined the company as senior broker and vice president. Fox has spent much of his career producing, placing, and servicing reinsurance programs, as well as providing analytical expertise to specialty insurance writers. He has worked with insurance companies, captives, risk retention groups and other risk financing entities, and has extensive experience in professional liability programs.

U.S. Risk Insurance Group Inc. named Mike Mullens a vice president and senior underwriter in the U.S. Risk Underwriters’ Dallas office. Mullens will head up U.S. Risk’s newly formed social services program department. He has more than 30 years of insurance experience with the past 10 years in the managing general agent arena. He most recently was the social services and elderly care facilities manager at London American Risk Specialists, in Dallas.

McQueary Henry Bowles Troy LLP (MHBT) added Steve DeLeon, Taylor Hargrave and Adam Sammons in the firm’s Dallas office, and Danny Cox in its Ft. Worth, Texas, office.

DeLeon joins MHBT’s construction team after serving 15 years with Bell Group. He is a member of the Hispanic Contractors Association and holds a CIC designation.

Hargrave brings extensive real estate experience to MHBT. Prior to joining to the firm, he worked for Brown Harris Stevens in New York City.

Sammons joins MHBT with extensive nonprofit risk management experience. The son of Charles Sammons, a prominent insurance industry leader, Sammons has spent his lifetime learning about the industry.

Cox brings more than 24 years of insurance experience to MHBT. He previously worked with Compass Insurance and holds CIC and CRM designations.

USG Insurance Services Inc., a national wholesale broker of commercial insurance, promoted Gina Lee to production manager of its Louisiana office. Lee joined USG in 2006 as a senior underwriter/broker. She has been in the insurance industry for 25 years and is experienced in both retail and wholesale insurance. Lee specializes in large accounts for property/CGL, environmental contractors and auto liability; including truckers and garage liability.

Bryan Staub and Kelly Anderson joined Dallas-based surplus lines insurance broker and managing general agent RISC Inc. in its brokerage department.

Anderson is a senior associate. She has nine years of property/casualty experience and most recently was commercial property underwriting assistant for AmRisc.

Staub joins as a broker. His areas of expertise include coastal property, general liability, inland marine, crime and professional coverages. He has three years of industry experience and previously was an underwriter with Nautilus Insurance Co.

CNA added John Ryszetnyk as assistant vice president and Roger Ecoff as risk control consulting director in its Ocean Marine unit. Ryszetnyk manages the hull and protection and indemnity (P&I), marine liabilities and excess liabilities lines of business; as well as the St. Louis, New Orleans, Houston, Seattle and New York branches. Ecoff handles risk control for Ocean Marine’s national book, including hull, P&I and marine liabilities.
