San Diego-based Barney & Barney LLC named Michael Bailey and Mark Doscher principals of the firm. Longtime commercial producers in the firm’s San Diego office, both have been key players in the success and growth of the firm.

Bailey joined the company’s Commercial Department in 2000 and has served in the firm’s healthcare practice group. Prior to joining Barney & Barney, he was the workers’ compensation claims examiner for Golden Eagle Insurance Co.

Doscher, who has been with the firm since 2006, serves as the director of the Executive Risk Practice. Prior to joining Barney & Barney, he was a senior vice president and Executive Risk Practice leader with Marsh San Diego. Previously, he spent several years as a divisional vice president for AIG in New York and Los Angeles.

Colorado Casualty, a Liberty Mutual Agency Corp. regional company, named Brenda K. Hickert vice president of underwriting.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Hickert will have overall responsibility for Colorado Casualty’s corporate and regional underwriting services and strategies toward increasing growth and profitability in its six-state territory. She has tremendous experience in commercial lines underwriting.

Willis Group Holdings, the global insurance broker, appointed Toby Wemyss CEO of its Global Markets International (GMI) division. Based in London, he will report to Dominic Samengo-Turner, CEO of Willis’ London Market Wholesale businesses, which are comprised of Faber & Dumas, Willis Facultative and GMI.

Wemyss, most recently managing director of GMI, started his insurance career at Willis and has been with the group for 10 years. He began as a market-facing property broker but gained experience in a number of different roles including being leader of the Terrorism team, co-leader of the Asia Pacific team and chief operating officer of GMI.

Morris Polich & Purdy LLP named Douglas K. Wood and Andrea Bednarova insurance specialists in San Francisco. Wood, a MPP partner, is a Martindale-Hubbell “AV-Preeminent” rated trial attorney. Andrea Bednarova is a multilingual associate. Both will counsel insurers regarding the property insurance coverage issues, and defend property coverage and “bad faith” litigation. They specialize in handling difficult cases arising out of suspected arson fires and fraudulent claims.

Mountain View, Calif.-based Lawson-Hawks Insurance Associates established a centralized commercial lines marketing division headed by Senior Vice President Jenesse Corcoran. Corcoran has more than 30 years of experience in underwriting, servicing and placing commercial lines risks. Prior to joining Lawson-Hawks, she was affiliated with Calco and Willis Insurance Services.

Brokers Insurance Group (BIG) named Justin McAdara a director. He has a diverse background, including realtor, insurance marketing representative and professional musician. He was a top producing real estate agent in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. He then became a marketing representative for AIG Agency Auto in north Los Angeles County and the San Fernando Valley, managing more than 400 brokers. At the company’s home office in Alpharetta, Ga., he was the marketing representative for National Accounts and oversaw 38 states and more than $100 million in total written premium. He also formerly was the Inland Empire, Calif., territory manager for Explorer Insurance.

Irvine, Calif.-based SullivanCurtisMonroe named Gayleen Wallace vice president in its Pasadena, Calif., office. Wallace joins SCM from Bolton, where she was a producer. She has more than 20 years of commercial property/casualty experience.
