Bolton & Co. based in Pasadena, Calif., named Brett Schulz assistant vice president in the Property & Casualty division.

Schulz brings more than 12 years of professional experience working with businesses to identify and implement solutions around workforce management, insurance and risk management.

The company also named Allyn Heck senior account executive in the Employee Benefits division.

Heck brings 18 years consulting experience in the areas of human resource strategy, risk management, and benefits administration. He has served clients in both private and public sectors, including hospitality and lodging, banking, law firms, municipalities and multiemployer trusts.

California-based insurance brokerage Barney & Barney LLC expanded its Compensation Consulting practice with the addition of compensation experts Matt Ward and Annette Winn. Ward and Winn were most recently with the compensation market intelligence firm Radford, an Aon Hewitt company.

Barney & Barney Principal Jeremy Anderson said both Ward and Winn “have extensive experience in working with boards and senior management in all industries, with a special emphasis in the technology and life sciences sectors. These are two core industry areas for Barney & Barney, as we represent a large constituency of these companies in California.”

Ward, an attorney and CPA, has been providing strategic compensation consulting and incentive plan design expertise for nearly 30 years.

Winn joins Barney & Barney with 20 years of experience consulting with clients on a range of compensation issues including total compensation strategy, senior management compensation, short- and long-term incentive plan design, and salary management programs. She also has experience designing compensation programs.

IMA of Colorado Inc., a retail insurance brokerage, announced that Mike McCubbin joined IMA as a business development executive. IMA of Colorado is part of the IMA Financial Group Inc., a financial services company specializing in insurance, asset and risk management with 450 employees and offices in seven markets across the nation.

At IMA, McCubbin will be responsible for business development and client retention. He previously worked for the Denver Broncos in sales and marketing, with a focus on hospitality sales. McCubbin started his career with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, where he managed corporate and community relations, fundraising, marketing, events and the Associate Board.

Align Financial Group Inc. named Joshua Parish vice president of the company’s newly acquired professional liability subsidiary, E.L.M. Insurance Brokers. Parrish will establish and manage a new branch office for the company in San Diego.

Parrish was previously assistant vice president and professional risks practice leader at AWISpro. He has held prior management liability positions with Lockton and AIG.

ELM is a specialist wholesale insurance brokerage headquartered in El Segundo, Calif., that focuses on providing coverage advice and liability insurance solutions to professionals such as accountants, architects, engineers, real estate agents, insurance brokers as well as other miscellaneous professional consultants.

MOC Insurance Services promoted Carmina Angka to senior vice president and Paul Perlite to vice president.

Angka joined MOC in 1995. Prior to that she worked as an underwriter for Zenith Insurance Co. and as a policy analyst for Industrial Indemnity. She oversees all services provided by the workers’ compensation team at MOC and is a leader on MOC’s executive group.

Perlite joined MOC’s real estate team in 2004 and was elevated to manager of this group in 2007. Prior to joining MOC, he was a claims manager at Nationwide Insurance.
