Austin, Texas-based Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT) announced that Charles R. (Chip) Ott Jr. will assume leadership of TMLT as president and CEO in late July. He will replace current President and CEO Bob R. Fields, who is retiring after 25 years with TMLT.

Most recently, Ott served as executive vice president at the Minneapolis, Minn., office of global reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter via the acquisition of Collins Associates, Ott served as co-head of the sales and service functions for Collins.

TMLT offers medical professional liability insurance products and risk management education services to Texas physicians.

Homeowners of America Insurance Co., based in Irving, Texas, named Michael C. Rosentraub as chief financial officer. Rosentraub has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industries in the United States, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Homeowners of America, he was the owner of MCR Insurance Consulting.

Homeowners of America Insurance Co. provides residential property coverage in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as private passenger auto coverage for homeowners in Texas.

Privately owned insurance and risk management firm MHBT, announced that Drew Raetzman joined the company’s Dallas office as an employee benefits producer.

An 18-year veteran in the insurance industry, Raetzman has expertise in handling accounts related to the healthcare, technology and manufacturing industries, as well as with professional groups and associations. Raetzman previously worked with Mutual of Omaha, Canada Life, AIG and Chubb.

Wells Publishing Inc., publisher of Insurance Journal, Claims Journal and MyNewMarkets.com, recently hired Denise Johnson as associate editor of Claims Journal.

Johnson’s background includes various claims positions, including serving as a senior claims examiner, field claims representative and a claims adjuster at Nautilus Insurance Co., Continental Western Group, Indiana Insurance and Wausau Insurance.

Johnson also has written for numerous Web and print publications, including Frontier Airlines’ in-flight magazine and Verdict Search, as well as for trade associations and non-profit organizations.

Claims Journal is a property/casualty claims news Web site and daily digital newsletter for claims adjusters and other related professionals.

John M. Rindt, executive vice president of the Surety Division of JDW Insurance, an El Paso, Texas-based insurance agency, was installed as the president of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP). Rindt has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and with the NASBP.

The NASBP is an international trade association in Washington, D.C., serving a membership of more than 5,000 surety agents and brokers.

Third Coast Underwriters, which provides workers’ compensation insurance for underserved markets that have complex risks, added experienced staff in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, La., and Houston, Texas.

Johnny Clebert, senior underwriting technical advisor, is based in Baton Rouge. Clebert will cover multiple states, including Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. He has more than 18 years of USL&H experience.

Aaron Hebert, senior loss control consultant, is based in New Orleans. Hebert has more than 30 years of experience in safety, risk management and loss control.

Bob Hamilton, director of underwriting – Gulf Specialty, is based in Houston. Hamilton has more than 33 years of commercial underwriting experience. He holds CPCU, ARM, AU and AAI designations.
