Insurance broker Lockton Companies is expanding its business in Florida with the addition of Ed Rivas. Prior to joining Lockton, Rivas spent 11 years as the director of Human Resources and Safety for Arch Aluminum and Glass. During his time with the company, he oversaw 2,000 employees within 28 company locations. Rivas also spent 18 years as an insurance carrier representative and independent insurance broker. Rivas will work out of Lockton’s Mirama, Florida office.

Integro, a New York-based insurance brokerage, has named Andrew Carr operations leader of its Atlanta office. He succeeds Frank Kinnett, who will assume the role of chair of Atlanta operations.

Carr joined Integro in 2006 from Marsh & McLennan, where he served as managing director of Marsh’s Atlanta’s Client Executive practice. Carr began his 30-year career with property/ casualty brokerages in the United Kingdom. He has also held positions with Sedgwick UK Ltd., and Sedgwick Global, New York. His assignments have included Sydney, Australia and New York.

Homeowners Choice, the Florida-based provider of homeowners’ insurance, has named a familiar executive to be its new chief executive officer. The insurer’s board of directors announced that Paresh Patel, board chairman, will assume the duties of CEO, effective July 1. Patel succeeds Frank McCahill, who served as company CEO since the insurer began operations in 2007. McCahill resigned in April.

The company said McCahill’s resignation was neither expected nor requested.

Patel is the founder of the insurer and has been active in strategic planning, investments and technology. Patel has served as chairman of the board, a position he expects to continue.

XL Insurance has named Roxanne Mitchell as president of its Excess and Surplus lines unit, reporting to Seraina Maag, chief executive, North America Property & Casualty. Mitchell will be based in XL’s Chicago office. Mitchell joins XL Insurance from Lexington Insurance where she served as zone executive for the company’s Midwest region overseeing 100 employees in five offices servicing 14 states. During her 20 years with Lexington, she held several underwriting management positions, beginning with her appointment as casualty manager in Boston.

John DiBiasi continues in his role as XL Insurance chief underwriting officer for E&S for Casualty, reporting to Mitchell.

Utah-based Citadel Insurance Services, a specialty program broker, has expanded its operations by opening a new regional office in Tampa, Florida. Citadel has appointed Gary N. Webb as director of its Southeast region to head up this location. Webb’s responsibilities at Citadel will include the design, placement and management of insurance programs, as well as the acquisition of new business. Prior to joining Citadel, Webb owned an international excess brokerage. He has also held positions at several London brokerage firms.

Citadel targets following industries: dietary supplement, energy and marine, manufacturing, life science, environmental, health care, property, and sports and entertainment.

Aon Risk Solutions has added David Langman as a senior vice president in its Construction Services Group in Atlanta. Langman will lead strategic efforts in the Southeast region and be responsible for targeted new client development and retention throughout the Southeast. Prior to joining Aon, Langman was managing director and construction practice leader at Marsh. He previously served as principal and chairman of Johnson & Higgins’ Construction Group.
