Marsh & McLennan Companies said Vanessa Wittman, the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, is leaving to take a senior role at online search giant Google. Wittman is expected to assist March & McLennan in the transition period until late this month before joining Google. Mike Bischoff, vice president of corporate finance, will assume the role of chief financial officer on an interim basis while a search for a permanent CFO is conducted. Wittman has been serving as Marsh & McLennan’s CFO since September 2008.

DataCede Companies, an insurance operational consulting firm in Princeton, N.J., said former New Jersey Banking and Insurance Commissioner Holly Bakke joined the firm as managing director of regulatory/runoff consulting practice. The move is part of DataCede’s asset acquisition of N.J.-based Strategic Initiatives Management Group LLC, where Bakke has been serving as a managing partner. Bakke was New Jersey’s commissioner for banking and insurance from 2002 to 2005.

Preferred Concepts LLC, a national insurance program administrator and specialty broker, appointed Georgeanna Munger as vice president to manage the company’s ezumbrella.com business unit in New York. Munger will lead ezumbrella.com’s underwriting and customer service operations. ezumbrella.com is a website where agents quote, bind and issue A rated umbrella liability insurance policies with limits up to $25 million. Preferred Concepts also appointed Jay Sheehan as senior vice president of Preferred Advantage, the firm’s specialty brokerage division. Sheehan will be based in Preferred’s Hartford, Conn., office where he will direct national professional liability operations for the firm.

The U.K.-based broker BMS Group appointed Mike Hollenbach as executive vice president within its specialty casualty team. He will be based in Philadelphia. Hollenbach joins BMS from Towers Watson where he served as a senior account executive for multi-line insurance carriers covering the major property/casualty lines of business.

Selective Insurance Group announced several officer appointments for its Selective Insurance Company of America: Kimberly Burnett as executive vice president, chief human resources officer, in Sparta, N.J.; Yanina Hupka as senior vice president, chief risk & reinsurance officer in Milford, Penn.; Pamela Keough as senior vice president, IT control & enterprise services in Wilton, Conn.; David Colarusso as vice president, director of safety management in Bethlehem, Penn.; Stephen Crosta as vice president, assistant general counsel, insurance operations in Livingston, N.J.; Joseph Kristel as vice president, claims, for Stonecreek Specialty Underwriters, a division in Richmond, Va.; Patty Horvath as assistant vice president, line of business manager, in Montague, N.J.; David Rosen as assistant vice president in Monroe, N.Y.; and Michael Baisley as assistant vice president, investments, in Avon, Conn.

S.H. Smith & Co., a wholesaler and managing general agent based in Hartford, Conn., appointed Shauntelle Lake as account manager in the large commercial property, casualty and environmental department. S.H. Smith also appointed Blake Hamre as assistant vice president. Additionally, Catherine Smith was appointed as account manager.

Ironshore Inc. appointed Eugene McDonough as New England regional executive and vice president of U.S. operations. McDonough, based in Boston, will be responsible for business development and program oversight in the region representing New England and Upstate New York. In this expanded role, he will continue to serve as assistant vice president of IronPro, Ironshore’s professional liability management division, Prior to joining Ironshore in 2010, McDonough served in various underwriting positions with AIG National Union and MetLife.
