Workers’ compensation insurance provider, Texas Mutual Insurance Co., has hired Timothy Osmond as claims manager in Dallas, where he will oversee a staff of 36 claims professionals.

Osmond has more than 24 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Texas Mutual, Osmond spent more than 10 years in claims management positions, specializing in areas such as risk services, corporate claims strategies, quality assurance reviews and business contingency plans.

Brian Duperreault will retire as president and chief executive officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. at year’s end. Daniel S. Glaser, currently the company’s group president and chief operating officer, has been named Duperreault’s successor.

Duperreault will retire from the company’s board of directors and Glaser will join the board effective Jan. 1, 2013.

Duperreault is an insurance industry veteran who, over the span of his nearly 40-year career, has held top leadership roles at various firms. Prior to Marsh & McLennan Companies, he was CEO of ACE Limited and a member of that company’s board of directors. Duperreault also served in senior executive positions with AIG and its affiliates.

Glaser has served as group president and chief operating officer of Marsh & McLennan Cos. since April 2011. He previously served as chairman and CEO of Marsh Inc.

Dave Medvidofsky has been elected as 2012-2013 president of the CPCU Society. He will be responsible for defining CPCU Society policies and monitoring administration of the CPCU Society.

Medvidofsky is a vice president and head of the internal audit unit at The Main Street America Group, a property/casualty insurer based in Jacksonville, Fla. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF), and Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) designations.

Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. promoted Josh Betz to president of Argo Surety, Argo Group’s Houston, Texas-based U.S. surety operation. Betz previously held the position of senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for Argo Surety. He has worked in the commercial surety business as a managing director for Travelers and as an underwriter at both CNA Surety and Reliance Surety.

Wells Fargo Insurance named Howard McClure regional managing director for its Southwest operations. He is based in Dallas.

The company’s southwest region includes Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.

McClure oversees eight offices and approximately 235 team members who provide insurance services to Wells Fargo’s business banking, middle market, large corporate and high net worth customers in the region.

The Gibraltar Group, a risk and insurance advisory firm based in Lubbock, Texas, appointed Dr. Bruce Baker as vice president of Information Security, and expanded its risk and loss management RiskIMPACT process to include NetworkGUARD.

Dr. Baker has significant professional and personal experience in information security. In 1998, he cofounded CleanZone, a provider of Internet security consulting services. He has also served as an adjunct professor of computer science at Brazosport College.

NetworkGUARD is an assessment driven service, developed with the purpose of helping business owners understand and secure risks both inside and outside of their company’s network by systematically identifying points of vulnerability.
