Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co. has added Jennifer Tomko as director of compensation and benefits.

Tomoko will create the strategic direction and provide oversight of Amerisure’s compensation, benefits and human resource information system (HRIS)/payroll functions.

Tomko joins Amerisure with more than 13 years’ experience in the technological and business practices areas of human resources.

Most recently, she was the director of compensation and benefits at Masco Cabinetry. Prior to that, she served as the compensation and benefits manager at Credit Acceptance Corp.

Mike Becker has been promoted to vice president of Federal Affairs for the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA).

Becker will head PIA’s lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, direct the annual PIA National Federal Legislative Summit and be the lead liaison to the association’s Government Affairs Committee. He will also serve as treasurer of the Professional Insurance Agents Political Action Committee (PIAPAC) and as a board member of Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety.

Becker began his career at PIA in March 2007, rising to assistant vice president of Federal Affairs prior to his new assignment.

James Woodard has been named president of Insurance Program Managers at The Sandner Group, headquartered in Chicago. Woodard was previously president of the group’s Alternative Risk Solutions company.

Insurance Program Managers is a consulting and program administration firm specializing in the design, implementation, and management of alternative risk financing, focusing on self-insurance programs.

The Sandner Group is a subsidiary of Brokers’ Risk Placement Service Inc.

Rockhill Insurance Group hired Dave Stoner as vice president to lead its healthcare liability division. He is based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Stoner has more than 20 years of industry experience and spent the last 10 years with American Safety Insurance Co. and Provider Alliance, where he was vice-president and director of healthcare underwriting.

Joining Stoner in Cleveland is Assistant Vice President Jason Correll, who has been with the Rockhill Healthcare unit since May 2012 and has 10 years of industry experience.

Rockhill Healthcare focuses on long term care liability risks and certain classes of miscellaneous facility business, written on a non-admitted basis in all 50 states plus Washington, D.C. Rockhill Insurance Group is a subsidiary of State Auto Mutual Insurance Co.

Daniel (Dan) Maloney has joined Northbrook, Ill.-based Encompass Insurance as vice president of sales.

Maloney comes to Encompass from Kemper Specialty, where he served as vice president of sales and marketing. Maloney’s 14 years with Kemper also included stints as a regional vice president and vice president of human resources and organizational development.

R&R Insurance Services Inc. in Waukesha, Wis., has added Dan Scheider as commercial account executive.

Scheider comes to R&R with more than five years of insurance experience. He began his career with National Specialty Insurance (a division of West Bend Mutual) and most recently was assistant vice president of American Risk Management Resources Network (ARMR).

Scheider will be concentrating on building a book of business within the manufacturing and construction arenas – specifically in the South and Central part of the state of Wisconsin.

He recently became a new member of the Madison Area Builders Association and is studying for his CIC designation – to be completed in May 2013.
