A.I.M. Mutual Insurance Companies, a workers’ comp insurer based in Burlington, Mass., promoted Mike Standing to be the company’s new president. Standing joined A.I.M Mutual as vice president in August 2012, with a focus on market and product development as well as broad-based project management. Prior to A.I.M. Mutual, he was with Guy Carpenter & Company, where he was senior vice president – account executive and a member of the workers compensation specialty practice for nine years.

Previously, A.I.M. Mutual CEO and Chairman John Myers has also held the role of president. Myers will now be CEO and executive chairman. In addition to his overall accountability for A.I.M. Mutual, Myers will continue to be responsible for claims and administrative oversight. Myers joined A.I.M. Mutual in 1995 as president and CEO and added the chairman’s role in 2011.

Vermont Mutual Insurance Group, based in Montpelier, Vt., announced that Susan Chicoine has been promoted to vice president of human resources. Chicoine has 25 years of experience working in the human resources field. Prior to joining Vermont Mutual Insurance Group as human resources director last August, she held a senior human resources management position with TD Bank.

Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Commercial Insurance business unit announced that Patrick Tully has been appointed vice president and managing director of distribution in the Northeast division of its national insurance operation.

Based in the company’s New York City office, Tully will lead the business development efforts in the Northeast territory, heading a team of professionals that partners with agents and brokers to meet the primary and excess casualty insurance needs of companies with 1,000 or more employees and the property needs of large risks.

Most recently, he was business development manager at Chubb’s Global Risk Management and Real Estate unit. Before that, he spent 18 years in various roles at Marsh & McLennan Companies, including in the broker’s securities operation and as New York Casualty Division manager.

Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company announced the appointment of Erik Matson to the position of commercial insurance field executive. In this role, Matson will be responsible for growing Fireman’s Fund’s commercial insurance business, including middle market, small business and farm & ranch business. He will be based in Fireman’s Fund’s Liberty Corner office in New Jersey.

Matson most recently served as the regional president of the Americas for AIG small/medium commercial lines and program businesses. Prior to AIG, Matson worked for Munich Re Group, IBM, Deloitte, and Booz Allen Hamilton.

The Sullivan Group hired David Marceau as vice president of its reinsurance division, GJS Re. He will be located in the firm’s Essex, Conn., office.

During the past eight years he has held a reinsurance brokering position with Guy Carpenter. Established in 1980, GJS Re is the reinsurance intermediary arm of the Sullivan Group, a privately held insurance brokerage, underwriting and intermediary operation based in Los Angeles.

NFP Property & Casualty Services (NFPPC) recently hired two account executives in its White Plains, N.Y., office. NFPPC said Janine Fleury joined the firm as a senior account executive in the commercial lines department, handling a $6 million book of business. For eight years prior to NFPPC, Fleury was employed at York International Agency LLC, specializing in property/casualty lines of business.

NFPPC also announced Michael Bernstein joined the firm as a senior account executive in the commercial lines department, managing a diverse book of business in excess of $10 million in premiums focusing on larger and more complex accounts. Bernstein was employed for the past six years with a Westchester, N.Y.-based brokerage where he was a senior account executive.
