Mullis Newby Hurst LP (MNH), based in Addison, Texas, promoted John W. Newby to president and chief operating officer.

Newby began his career with MNH in 2002 as executive vice president and partner. He previously served as regional vice president for Chicago-based NAS Surety Group. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Newby completed his MBA at Pepperdine University.

MNH specializes in construction insurance and surety bonds, and has an affiliate in Little Rock, Ark., MNH-Tullis LLC.

Van Wert, Ohio-based Central Insurance Companies elected Janet L. White to its board of directors, appointed her to its executive committee and promoted her to senior vice president of human resources

White holds the overall accountability for the human resources, training and education and facilities departments.

White also chairs the pension and savings, and profit participation (SPP) advisory and administrative committees, and is a member of the management and risk management committees for the company.

She began her career at Central in February 1979 in the commercial lines underwriting department as a technician. She was later promoted to commercial lines underwriter and senior underwriter. White became vice president of human resources in 2004, and has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Associate in General Insurance designations.

Central Insurance Companies writes policies in 18 states, with offices in Boston, Atlanta, Dallas and Van Wert.

Austin, Texas-based ProspX Inc. named Steve Gold as president and chief executive officer.

Gold previously was head of commercial sales and marketing for AIG, and has more than 27 years of executive management experience in commercial insurance.

Co-founder and former president and CEO Todd L. Young will become ProspX’s executive vice president

ProspX’s social business platform delivers custom insurance industry, line of business, and carrier specific content and business intelligence to brokers based on their areas of expertise and interest.

The ProspX broker and carrier network currently exceeds 11,000 commercial insurance professionals from brokers, agencies and commercial carriers worldwide.

The Woodlands Financial Group’s TWFG Insurance Services division has named outstanding performers and producers for the year 2012. In addition to annual awards in seven categories, seven agents were inducted into the company’s President’s Club.

The award winners are:

Branch-of-the-Year: Stephen Lovecchio of Mandeville, La.

Rookie-of-the-Year: Buffy Doiron of the Port Arthur, Texas.

President’s Club inductees: Stephen Lovecchio, Mandeville, La.; Anthony Voiron, Metairie, La.; Ricky Rogers, Metairie, La.; Kelly Lee, Lake Charles, La.; Jenny Xu, Houston; Carlton Kon, Houston; and Brian Johnson, Humble, Texas.

TWFG also has established a $10K and $25K Life and Health Insurance Club based on premiums written in each category.

Brian Johnson of Humble, Texas, and Susan Stover of Kingwood, Texas, earned entry into the $25K Club.

The Life Insurance Agent-of-the-Year is Rosalie Gonzalez in San Pedro, Calif., and the Health Insurance Agent-of-the-Year is Kathy Morrison inTWFG’s home office in The Woodlands, Texas.
