New Hampshire’s Executive Council has unanimously confirmed the reappointment of Roger Sevigny to another five-year term as the state’s insurance commissioner.

New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan nominated Sevigny to another term in May, pending final approval and confirmation by the state’s Executive Council. New Hampshire’s Executive Council and its five elected members have the authority and responsibility, together with the governor, over the administration of the state’s affairs.

Commissioner Sevigny has been leading New Hampshire’s insurance department since he was appointed to the post in 2003 by then Gov. Craig Benson. Sevigny is also a former president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

Prior to his appointment as the insurance commissioner he held the position of assistant commissioner. Before joining the insurance department, he worked with Travelers Insurance for more than 30 years, serving in a variety of technical and management positions.

Rye Brook, N.Y.-based specialty insurer The Navigators Group appointed Glen Bronstein as chief claims officer of Navigators Management Company, the Group’s principal U.S. underwriting agency subsidiary. Prior to joining Navigators, Bronstein worked at American International Group for 19 years. During his tenure at AIG, he served in a variety of executive capacities including head of Global TPA Management and head of Claims Professional Shared Services.

Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) elected a new slate of officers and board members. Swiss Re America’s Senior Vice President of Property & Casualty Peter Opinante, who has served as the Inland Marine Underwriters Association’s chairman for the past year, was inaugurated for a second term. Also elected to serve a second term were IMUA Deputy Chairperson Michelle Hoehn, who is vice president of inland marine product and underwriting at The Travelers Group, and Vice Chairman William Rosa, who is vice president and Eastern regional manager at XL Reinsurance.

HCC Insurance Holdings appointed Francis Tricamo to lead its new construction property risks division in New York. Tricamo has over 35 years of property insurance and reinsurance experience. Headquartered in Houston, HCC Insurance Holdings is a specialty insurer with offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain and Ireland.

Chicago-based broker Hub International’s Northeast division hired Scott Konrad as senior vice president and not-for-profit business practice leader. Based in Hub’s New York City office, Konrad will be responsible to build, brand, grow and lead a specialty practice serving the insurance, risk management, and employee benefit needs of nonprofit organizations throughout Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Previously, he was executive director and national nonprofit practice leader at Crystal & Company.

Union Mutual of Vermont Companies promoted Peter Heitmann to the position of claims manager. Heitmann joined Union Mutual in 1983 as a telephone adjuster, and moved to a regional general adjuster position covering Central and Northeast Vermont as well as Northern New Hampshire. He was promoted to casualty supervisor, and has held the position of senior casualty supervisor since 2009.

Philadelphia Insurance Companies announced the hiring of Ziad Kubursi as senior vice president of specialty lines and Karen Votta as vice president of large accounts for commercial lines. Kubursi brings to his post more than 15 years of industry experience, including 10 years at Chartis and AIG in various positions.

Votta brings over 20 years of experience to her new role, including nine years with Chartis and AIG in various casualty leadership positions.
