California-based Confie Seguros named Darrin Silveria chief revenue officer.

The national insurance broker focused on non-standard auto insurance and the Hispanic consumer created the new role to support the company’s growth and continued expansion.

Prior to Confie Seguros, Silveria served as senior vice president and managing director of Trivista and spent more than seven years with T-Mobile, most recently as vice president and general manager. At T-Mobile he led a transformation of the retail and sales business. Prior to T-Mobile, he spent 15-years at PepsiCo and Pepsi Bottling Group, where he was responsible for the branded retail sales channel, developing strategy and tactics, as well as leading a team of sales leaders. He held various roles at Pepsi.

Confie Seguros was assisted in the selection of Silveria by O’Neill Consulting Group, an executive search firm headquartered in Wakefield, RI.

Confie Seguros has built a national portfolio of regional auto insurance brokerages. Confie has reported annual revenue of more than $200 million with more than 300 retail locations and market positions in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Washington, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, and Nevada. Confie Seguros is a portfolio company of ABRY Partners.

David Rix will rejoin Marsh as head of its Portland, Ore., office.

Rix will be responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the office.

Rix rejoins Marsh from Willis, where he spent the last eight years serving as its Portland office head. Prior to that, he spent 18 years serving in a variety of risk advisory and client service roles for Marsh in St. Louis, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Chicago and Portland.

Rix succeeds Richard Stevens, a veteran Marsh executive who has led the Portland office for the last six years. Stevens will stay with Marsh to assist in the transition of responsibilities and to serve his clientele.

Marsh is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Cos., which has more than 53,000 employees worldwide and reported annual revenue exceeding $11 billion.

Vertafore named Alex Lintner president and CEO. Linter will also be joining the board of directors.

Lintner’s appointment is part of a managed executive transition, which has been coordinated by the lead investor team from TPG Capital and current CEO Euan Menzies. As part of the transition Menzies will continue to be actively involved with the company, and is assuming a new position as vice chairman of the board. Menzies cited personal reasons for his decision to step down from the CEO role, which he has held for the past 12 years.

Lintner most recently held the role of president of Intuit’s global business division. He joined Intuit in 2005 as senior vice president of corporate strategy and development after a successful career in management consulting, with firms including The Boston Consulting Group.

Vertafore delivers software and services to more than 20,000 customers.

Poms & Associates Insurance Brokers Inc. named Daniel Foley and Carol Hotubbee to the Albuquerque, N.M., office.

Foley will serve as vice president. Hotubbee will serve as vice president of new business development.

Foley has more than 15 years of experience in property/casualty and employee benefits, and has a book of business that includes governmental entities, construction, high tech, manufacturing and oil and gas exploration. Prior to joining Poms, he was a sales manager and producer at Daniels Insurance. Foley served on the executive committee of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators for more than four years, and in the New Mexico Legislature for 10 years.

Hotubbee has more than 30 years of experience. Prior to joining the firm, Hotubbee was the founder and CEO of The Upgrade Place. She also co-founded and sold several entrepreneurial startups.

Poms has offices in California, Colorado, New Mexico and Washington.

Novato, Calif.-based Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. named Brian Cesario as western zone personal insurance executive.

Cesario will lead Fireman’s Fund’s western zone for personal lines insurance. He has underwriting and distribution responsibility for the personal lines business, which focuses on the specialized needs of the high net worth market in the western zone. He will be located in Southern California.

Cesario has 27 years of insurance industry experience. He started in underwriting, sales and branch management positions with The Hartford on the West Coast and then moved into senior sales management roles.

Fireman’s Fund is a member of the Allianz Group.

California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones named Eric Weirich deputy commissioner of the enforcement branch of the California Department of Insurance.

Weirich began with CDI as a detective with the fraud division in 1998. He has held a range of posts.

Weirich’s 25-plus years of civilian law enforcement experience includes time as a police officer with the Vacaville Police Department and as an investigator with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. His law enforcement career began with the security police squadron in the U.S. Air Force.

CDI’s enforcement branch has made a reported 1,961 arrests between January 2011 and June 2013.

Networked Insurance Agents, an aggregator serving independent property/casualty agencies across the West, named four key management promotions in California.

Scott Smith was made vice president and appointed to head of the Grass Valley office and managing director of the direct access insurance services cluster group. Smith is in his 10th year with Networked, and he will continue with his responsibilities over personal lines new business.

Tam Duong was made assistant vice president of commercial lines. Duong will lead the account management teams for both new business and renewals, in addition to her current role as the head of the Orange office.

Karen Huang and Steve Rose were promoted to manager of commercial lines new business, in the Orange and Grass Valley offices, respectively.

Networked has offices in Northern and Southern California, serves more than 1,200 affiliate members in 10 Western states.

Burnham Benefits Insurance Services named two new members to its staff.

Laurel McClay, senior account executive, and Michele M. Dang, account executive, were hired to support the firm’s growth and expansion in the Northern California market.

McClay, who has more than 30 years of experience, will supply support strategic account management, client relations and new business development.

Dang has more than 25 years of industry experience. Dang has serviced both fully insured and self-funded accounts for national brokerage firms.
