Kelly K. Norris has been named executive director of the Glenmont, N.Y.-based Professional Insurance Agents associations of Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and their affiliated organizations.

Norris has served as deputy director of the PIA associations for 15 months, and replaces Diane Fowler, who retired from the position as of Jan. 1. Norris joined PIA in 2012 after serving as executive director of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers for 14 years. She served as executive director of the New York State Consumer Finance Association prior to that.

John Sherlock has been appointed managing partner for Willis of Pennsylvania. In this role, he will oversee business operations in Willis’ Philadelphia and Radnor offices as supported by a staff of more than 200 associates.

Sherlock joined Willis from Philadelphia Insurance Co. where he served as senior vice president responsible for large broker strategy. Prior to this, Sherlock was with AIG where he served as president of the Mid-Atlantic region. He is based in Philadelphia.

Additionally, Willis North America appointed Jeffery Beneville as senior vice president and producer of marine practice, focusing on the yacht business.

In this role, Beneville will be responsible for business development in the yacht division, which places insurance for 24 of the world’s 100 largest luxury yachts. Based in Newport, R.I., Beneville will work to expand Willis’ footprint in this highly specialized marketplace. Prior to joining Willis, he was managing director at Aon Risk Services.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Main Street America Group said Dean Dorman has been promoted to chief actuary and vice president. Dorman is based in Main Street America’s Keene, N.H., New England region office. He will oversee the company’s reserving, ceded reinsurance, corporate insurance and data management services functions in his new role as chief actuary.

Dorman joined Main Street America in 2001 and was promoted to director of reserving in 2002. He was appointed assistant actuary in 2004 and promoted to assistant vice president in 2008. Prior to joining Main Street America, Dorman held several actuarial positions at Liberty Mutual Regional Agency Markets, including associate actuary — loss reserving and personal lines actuarial manager.

The New York State Insurance Fund announced Eric Madoff joined NYSIF as executive director. Madoff joins NYSIF from the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS), where he served as chief of staff from 2011 to 2013.

At DFS, Madoff had operational responsibility for an agency of 1,400 employees, overseeing administration, finance, technology and other support areas.

From 2009 to 2010, Madoff was chief investment and strategy officer for the New York Liquidation Bureau. He was responsible for $2 billion in investment assets for the bureau, which manages insurance companies placed into receivership by DFS.

Glatfelter Insurance Group (GIG) in York, Penn., promoted Larissa Tosch to vice president and chief information officer. In this new role, Tosch is responsible for leading and overseeing GIG’s information technology infrastructure and staff, as well as application systems.

A GIG associate since 1999, Tosch has worked through positions of increasing responsibility and leadership, most recently serving as applications director.

She was previously manager of business systems and an application developer and has also worked closely with the GIG business unit. Tosch replaces retiring chief information officer Wayne Umland, who held the position for 16 years.

Montpelier, Vt.-based Vermont Mutual Insurance Group announced that Daniel C. Bridge has been promoted to executive vice president.

Bridge is an industry veteran with more than 25 years in the property/casualty business, holding senior management positions both regionally and nationally prior to joining Vermont Mutual as a vice president in 2009. In this expanded role, Bridge will oversee the underwriting, marketing, claims, IT and product and pricing operations of the organization.

Portland, Maine-based workers’ compensation carrier MEMIC has announced the appointment of Randy Klatt to the position of manager, loss control services.

Klatt has worked for MEMIC for 10 years, becoming a full-time employee in 2008. He has played an integral role in MEMIC’s safety training efforts, working as a safety consultant providing services to MEMIC customers both onsite and through MEMIC’s Safety Academy workshops and webinars.

Swett & Crawford, part of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC), appointed Ed Frackiewicz as broker for the casualty practice group in Boston.

Frackiewicz began his insurance career with Liberty Mutual Group, followed by risk management positions at Del Monte Foods and the Boston Consortium for Higher Education for the past 12 years.
