Attorney G. Donovan Brown, Southeast state government relations counsel for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI), is joining the well-connected Tallahassee law firm of Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky, Abate & Webb as a partner.

Brown will transition from PCI to the position of partner at the firm during early December 2014. He will be based at the Tallahassee office adjacent to Florida’s capitol.

His practice will concentrate in the areas of legislative, executive and public affairs, insurance regulatory law, administrative law and related matters, transactional law, and corporate counseling and representation.

Brown is a former special assistant to former Governor Jeb Bush.

Tom Gallagher, former Florida chief financial officer, insurance commissioner and lawmaker, is among the government consultants with the law firm.

Liberty Mutual Insurance’s National Accounts Property operation has appointed C. Wesley Sellers as Southeast division manager.

Sellers, who is based in Atlanta, has 25 years of experience in the property insurance industry, most recently as vice president, Southeast property underwriting, XL Group. He also spent eight years at FM Global as a senior account manager in the Southeast.

The new national officers of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA National) were installed during the group’s September board of directors meeting held in San Antonio. Each of the officers will serve one-year terms that began on Oct. 1, 2014, and run through Sept. 30, 2015.

Richard A. Clements, of Chalmette, Louisiana becomes president; Robert W. Hansen Jr., of Omaha, Nebraska becomes president-elect; Gareth W. Blackwell Jr., of Corinth, Maine becomes vice president/treasurer; Timothy G. Russell, of Southport, Connecticut becomes secretary/assistant treasurer; and John G. JLT Specialty Insurance Services Inc. has named several cyber risk specialists to its cyber team in the U.S.

Joining JLT Specialty will be Florence Levy, formerly at Lockton in Denver; Lauren Cisco, formerly at Lockton in Chicago, and Shannon Groebber, formerly at Lockton in Philadelphia. They will work from JLT offices in their respective cities.

The appointments are in line with JLT’s plans to expand significantly its U.S. specialty capabilities. Last month JLT Group plc expanded its U.S. specialty capabilities and merged JLT Specialty Ltd. and Lloyd & Partners Ltd. That merger of specialty teams into one operation came after JLT’s acquisition of reinsurance broker Towers Watson Re last year.
