Global insurance broker Marsh has appointed Courtney Leimkuhler to the role of chief financial officer, effective March 1, 2015.

Leimkuhler will succeed CFO Paul Malvasio, who is retiring in March after a career in the insurance industry that spans more than four decades. Leimkuhler, who has served as CFO of Marsh’s U.S. and Canada Division since December 2013, will continue to be based in New York.

Prior to joining Marsh, Leimkuhler spent nine years at NYSE Euronext, where most recently she led corporate strategy and implementation and was responsible for all mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and divestitures.

OceanPoint Insurance Agency Inc. in Middletown, Rhode Island, has hired Christine Porter as director of sales.

Porter will oversee the sales management of all OceanPoint products, including personal insurance, commercial insurance and financial services. Additionally, she will direct the recruitment and training of the sales team. She previously served as senior sales executive at Travelers Insurance.

Workers’ compensation insurer The MEMIC Group hired Roger Comer as senior production underwriter to serve its agents in Northern Virginia and Maryland.

Comer is based in The MEMIC Group’s Tysons Corner, Virginia, office. He was most recently marketing underwriter for FCCI Insurance Group responsible for the state of Maryland.

Retail insurance broker EPIC (Edgewood Partners Insurance Center) has hired John Walsh as principal of Executive Liability and Financial Lines insurance.

He will be based in Stamford, Connecticut. Previously, Walsh was the North American head of Zurich’s International Program Financial Lines group.

EPIC also hired William P. (Bill) Cosgrove as managing principal and Financial Institutions Practice leader.

He will be based in New York. Prior to joining EPIC, Cosgrove spent eight years with Willis Group Holdings, where he held various leadership roles in their Financial Institutions Practice, most recently as executive vice president, Financial Institutions Group.

XL Group’s Cyber and Technology business unit added three underwriters, Sean Donahue, Elissa Doroff and Richard Schulz, to its New York-based team.

Donahue joins XL Group from Dewitt Stern Group where he was vice president and director of information technology. Doroff previously served as broker of cyber insurance at Marsh where she held the position of senior advisory specialist. Schulz comes from Axis Insurance where he underwrote a broad spectrum of media, technology, privacy and network security risks.
