Atlanta-based Crawford & Company, a provider of claims management programs, has announced that Ken Forsyth will be joining Crawford Global Technical Services (GTS) as managing director Aviation – the Americas, effective April 23, 2015.

GTS is Crawford’s global offering to major incident claims handling, including catastrophic and complex claims, high value property and casualty claims, as well as specific claims in a range of industries, including aviation.

Forsyth brings with him more than 37 years of aviation claims experience, and will be based in the GTS Miami Aviation office. He will assist with the company’s efforts to grow its aviation capabilities in the region and globally.

Prior to joining GTS, Forsyth was a regional director of McLarens Aviation. Earlier he had served for more than 16 years as president of Airclaims, Inc., and before that position was director of the Claims – Specialties Group at Lambert Fenchurch Insurance Brokers, Ltd., in London for over 19 years.

Baldwin Risk Partners (BRP), a privately-held insurance and risk management holding company based in Tampa, Fla., has appointed Kris Wiebeck as chief financial officer. Wiebeck will oversee finance, mergers and acquisitions, accounting and legal for all four BRP brands, which include Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners, Medicare Insurance Partners, The Villages Insurance and American Risk Partners.

Wiebeck began his career in the Advisory Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he consulted with corporate clients regarding matters of financing, mergers and acquisitions, investments and business process improvement. He was most recently senior vice president at MMA Capital Management responsible for United States Investments.

Wiebeck’s responsibilities will include working with BRP leadership to continue delivering insurance and risk management services, optimizing operating results, and leading external growth opportunities.

BRP provides private risk management, commercial risk management, employee benefits and asset and income protection to clients.

Validus Reaseguros Inc. (VRI), a part of Validus Reinsurance, Ltd., has promoted Alejandro Salamanca in its Miami office.

Salamanca, currently an underwriter in the Miami office working in the treaty department, has been promoted to assistant vice president, treaty underwriter. Salamanca’s focus is on the agriculture and surety portfolios.

Salamanca has been with Validus in Miami since 2008, where he began his career as an underwriting assistant.

The Villages Insurance has added Matt Cameron as managing advisor to its Pinellas Plaza, Fla., office. Cameron has over 23 years experience in the insurance industry, most recently as an agent at the local AAA office.

Cameron became a member of The Villages Insurance team this past October.

The Villages Insurance provides insurance and risk management products to over 38,000 families and businesses in and around The Villages, Fla. The agency has eight offices, over 70 colleagues and offers a full range of personal, life, annuity, and commercial insurance coverages.

Orchid Underwriters Insurance Agency, LLC, a specialty underwriter of property insurance focused on coastal properties based in Vero Beach, Fla., has named Chuck Fillizola as chief information officer. In the newly created position, Fillizola will play a role in setting and implementing IT strategy and IT budget management, program management, staff management, vendor selection/management, IT delivery and IT technology to benefit Orchid’s current and future expansion plans. Fillizola will also be a member of the Executive Management Committee at Orchid along with Chairman Ken LeStrange, CEO Michael Ray and President Brad Emmons.

Fillizola has senior level technology experience in IT management, applications development and program management within the P&C insurance industry. He most recently served as vice president & chief information officer for Sompo Japan Nipponkoa America Insurance. Before his tenure at Sompo, Fillizola was vice president & chief strategy officer for the Property & Casualty Insurance Division of Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC)

Beazley Group has hired a former Hiscox executive to help expand its miscellaneous medical insurance capabilities. Christopher Dunlavy will be based in Beazley’s Atlanta office.

Dunlavy was most recently at Hiscox USA, where he built and managed a book of healthcare general and professional liability business.

Separately, Jennifer Schoenthal is transferring from the Beazley Chicago office to Atlanta, according to the insurer. She’ll work with Dunlavy to expand Beazley’s book of miscellaneous medical business in the southeast U.S. region.

Schoenthal is a two-year Beazley veteran who was previously an underwriter with a Lloyd’s coverholder writing medi-spa and other allied healthcare lines of business.
