Kyle Dean, president and CEO of Dean & Draper Insurance Agency LP in Houston, has been elected to serve as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston (IIAH) for a term beginning Sept. 1, 2015, through Aug. 31, 2016.

Dean & Draper is an independent insurance agency specializing in commercial insurance, employee benefits and personal insurance. Kyle Dean has been in the insurance industry since 2005. He assumed the leadership role at the agency when his father, Bob Dean, suddenly passed in 2013.

Prior to his election as president of IIAH, Dean served for four years as vice-chairman of the Legislative Committee and as IMPACT chairman. IMPACT is a state fundraising arm for the independent agents to have their voice heard at the Capitol in Austin.

In addition, the following were elected as officers of IIAH for 2015-2016: President-Elect Daphne B. Clark, Hotchkiss Insurance Agency; Vice-President Scott Margraves, TDECU Insurance Agency; Treasurer Paul Cerone, Bowen Miclette and Britt; Bill Baycroft, BancorpSouth/GEM Insurance; and Secretary Carole Shelton.

New directors elected for a three-year term include: Zachary Gleason, Carroll Insurance Agency; Chris Goff, HARCO Insurance Services; Wesley Kurtz, Pathfinder LL & D Insurance Group; and Jason Billingslea, ACE Private Risk Services.

Risk Theory LLC, a distribution and program management firm for property/casualty insurance headquartered in Dallas, has added Bob Tschippert as senior vice president of Dealer Services.

Tschippert has over 31 years of experience managing sales, claims and underwriting units specializing in the automotive and automotive aftermarket industry.

His background includes 27 years with Zurich (Universal Underwriters). He was most recently the national managing director for Ally Financial Services where he was responsible for the garage insurance program.

Tschippert has extensive experience with large complex accounts which utilized alternative risk financing programs such as retrospective rating plans, large deductible plans and captives.

MarketScout, a national electronic insurance exchange and specialty MGA headquartered in Dallas, announced that Noel Bentley and Ernie Holmes have joined its Private Client Solutions (PCS) division.

Holmes, a 25-year veteran of the insurance industry will serve as senior vice president of the Private Client Solutions division.

Prior to joining MarketScout, Holmes was the vice president and managing director of Private Client Insurance Group. Holmes has spent the last 10 years of his career focusing on risk management of affluent individuals and public figures. He has earned the Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) designation and is currently fulfilling the requirements to obtain the Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM) designation.

Bentley will serve as the marketing manager of the Private Client Solutions division. In her new role, Bentley will be responsible for evaluating risks, quoting policies, reporting and maintaining relationships with carrier marketing representatives and underwriters.

Bentley has over 40 years of experience in personal lines insurance and holds an Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) designation. Most recently, she was the marketing manager of Private Client Insurance Group.

MarketScout also added Crystal Wittwer as an underwriter on its PCS team in South Carolina. Wittwer has more than 15 years of insurance industry experience.

Denise Tucker, a teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, has been named the 2015 InVEST Teacher of the Year.

The program is a key driver to attract new talent to the insurance industry.

Tucker has taught high school for nine years, including four on the Woodrow Wilson High School faculty. A popular teacher and community leader, she was nominated by the Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas.

Tucker is credited with bringing the InVEST program to Woodrow Wilson High School and successfully managing an exciting curriculum that includes internships and job shadowing days, and launching an Academy of Finance Advisory Board operated by students.

Fort Worth, Texas-based InsureZone expanded operations into the Houston metro area, and tapped Renee Hooker as vice president of business development to lead the office. Hooker joined InsureZone in April.

Other key personnel include commercial underwriters, Amy Boyer and Robin Revell; lead customer service representative, Sara Groce; and director of Agency Relations, Rachel DePue.

InsureZone’s AgentSecure is a wholesaler that provides access to national and regional carriers. It operates in all 50 states, focusing on agencies that are seeking an online suite of tools that will help them be more efficient in growing their agency.
