Texas Governor Greg Abbott appointed Gerald Ladner, Sr. and reappointed Rosemary Gammon to the board of the State Office of Risk Management. Their terms expired Feb. 1.

Dr. Lloyd Garland was named as presiding officer of the board.

The State Office of Risk Management administers insurance services obtained by state agencies, including the self-insured government employees’ workers’ compensation insurance program and the state risk management programs.

Based in Austin, Ladner is a vice president/director of sales at State Auto Insurance Companies. He is an engaged member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT), member of the Insurance Council of Texas, secretary of the Texas Risk and Insurance Professionals board and a member of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities. He also serves as a guest lecturer at University of Houston-Downtown and Texas Southern University, and is a board member for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.

Gammon, of Plano, is a principal at Sage Healthcare Consultants. Prior to that, she was director of reimbursement and payer strategy at Mederi Therapeutics.

Garland, of Lubbock, is retired board-certified neurosurgeon and a current private neurological consultant. He is a member of the American, Texas and Lubbock County medical associations, Texas and Lubbock surgical societies, and American and Texas associations of Neurological Surgeons.

The Applied Client Network, the international association of users of Applied Systems software, named Brian Langerman as chief executive officer.

Langerman has more than 18 years of technology industry experience, including global marketing, product management and business development.

Prior to joining Applied Client Network as CEO, Langerman worked at Motorola Solutions for 15 years, most recently as a senior executive in Motorola Solutions’ Global Services Organization.

Ironshore Inc. named Ronald A. Gleason Global Energy Industry practice leader. A senior vice president based in Houston, Gleason currently serves as Ironshore’s regional executive for South Central. He will continue in that role.

Gleason has more than 30 years’ experience as a specialty underwriter in the energy sector. He joined Ironshore in 2009 to establish the Houston office. Previously. he led the regional energy operation of AIG Global Energy after having served for more than five years as Profit Center Manager for the AIG Energy division.

JLT Specialty USA appointed Perry Robinson as senior vice president. Based in Houston, he will assist JLT’s clients with identification, management and mitigation of complex risks in the cyber and technology fields.

Having most recently served as vice president and general manager of Rackspace’s Managed Security division, and prior to that as vice president of Business and Legal Affairs at Rackspace, Robinson comes to JLT with over a decade of experience in leading business and legal teams in the technology space.

Sheral Kellar has been appointed director of the Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration at the Louisiana Workforce Commission.

Kellar, a licensed attorney with more than 25 years of experience in labor, employment and workers’ compensation law and most recently the workers’ compensation chief judge, will oversee the adjudication of claims under Louisiana’s workers’ comp laws and related matters. She serves as a member of the board of directors and the curriculum committee of the National Association of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers.

In July 2015, Louisiana Chief Justice Bernette J. Johnson appointed Kellar to the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Access to Justice Commission.

San Antonio-based boutique risk management and insurance brokerage firm, TASA Risk Solutions, appointed Rob Maurer as director of Safety.

Maurer joins TASA with decades of experience in the insurance and risk management area for a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing and transportation. He most recently worked for a national workers’ compensation carrier as a regional executive and loss control engineer.

Dallas-based CoVerica promoted John Sutter to branch development director. The company also announced it is opening a new CoVerica branch in Tyler, Texas.

Sutter will identify and support future independent agencies for strategic alignment with CoVerica as free standing agency branches.

Sutter has 36 years of insurance experience, is a licensed agent/risk manager and holds the CPCU and ARM designations. Before joining CoVerica in 2015, he served as president and principal in three local insurance agencies.
