Risk Strategies Company, a privately held national insurance brokerage and risk management firm, has expanded its nationwide Private Risk Management (PRM) practice with the hiring of Carol Wiek as vice president, private client. Wiek is based out of the Nashville office of Crow Friedman Group, which was acquired by Risk Strategies in 2014.

A Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Insurance Services Representative (CISR), Wiek brings more than 30 years of experience specializing in the risk protection needs of high-net-worth and affluent clients. Before joining Risk Strategies, she was with Brown & Brown of Tennessee, Inc.

Though based out of the Nashville office, Wiek will work across the Memphis, Atlanta and Birmingham offices of Crow Friedman Group, which are also now part of Risk Strategies Company, to uncover new growth opportunities both in and beyond their existing commercial client base.

Risk Strategies Company is a privately held, national firm offering risk management advice and insurance placement for property & casualty, healthcare and employee benefits risks. Risk Strategies serves commercial companies, non-profits, public entities and individuals.

JLT Specialty USA has appointed Jeff Segall as senior vice president and Construction Risk leader in JLT’s U.S. Construction Practice.

Segall will join JLT’s team working with large construction projects, including power stations, infrastructure projects, office blocks and sports stadia. He will be based in JLT’s Atlanta office.

With over 30 years of professional insurance experience, Segall comes to JLT following his roles at Willis as SVP of the National Construction Practice and Florida Construction Practice leader.

JLT Specialty USA is a subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc. (JLT), a global, specialty-focused provider of insurance, reinsurance and employee benefits related advice, brokerage and associated services.

Anchor Insurance has appointed John Wortman president and Kevin Pawlowski chief operating officer.

Wortman most recently served on Florida Citizens Insurance Corp.’s Board of Governors.

Wortman has also served as leader and CEO of several insurance companies, including the Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corp., American Mutual, Michigan Mutual, the Amerisure Companies and Anthem Property Casualty Companies.

Pawlowski has a background in business and accounting. He previously served as CEO of M P TotalCare, a national dispensing pharmacy company.

The appointments of Wortman and Pawlowski are subject to approval by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.

Anchor Insurance, based in St. Petersburg, Fla., was formed to provide insurance to homeowners living in areas where options are limited due to losses from storms and widespread natural disasters. Anchor currently insures customers in a dozen states through Anchor Property and Casualty Insurance Co. and Anchor Specialty Insurance Co.

The Villages Insurance has expanded into Lake County, Fla., with the addition of The Villages Insurance Lake County Division, which will be led by Stephanie Davidson.

The move extends The Villages offerings already available to the residents of The Villages community, including the services of its 24/7 emergency response team, to the residents of Lake County.

Davidson, born and raised in Leesburg, Fla., holds a 220 license specializing in home, auto, recreational vehicle and motorcycle insurance. Davidson joined The Villages Insurance team in 2013

Insurance broker Aon announced several leadership appointments in the U.S.

Warren Mula assumes the newly created global role of president of Aon Risk Solutions. He will serve as a strategic advisor across the business. Mula most recently served as CEO for Aon Broking and will continue to support the broking agenda.

Tom Fitzgerald becomes CEO of Aon Broking. Fitzgerald previously led the Aon Risk Solutions U.S. Retail business as CEO. In his new role, he will help further globalize the firm’s broking capabilities.

With Fitzgerald’s move to Aon Broking, two veteran executives will lead the Aon Risk Solutions U.S. Retail business moving forward: Lori Goltermann as CEO and Steve Keogh as president.

Goltermann was most recently the U.S. health and benefits practice leader.

Keogh most recently served as chief administrative officer, Aon Risk Solutions, and head of human resources for Aon Risk Solutions Americas.

Will Sneden becomes U.S. Health and Benefits Practice leader. Sneden has led and grown all segments of the U.S. Health and Benefits business.
