Tampa, Fla.-based Franklin Street has hired Nancy Sheinberg as vice president of Insurance Services. With 30 years of commercial insurance experience, Sheinberg is responsible for managing all hands-on operational features of the division’s client support team and fills an instrumental role in the executive management’s aggressive growth strategy.

Franklin Street is a full-service commercial real estate firm in the Southeast, with offices in Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, and Tampa, Fla. The family of real estate companies include Investment Sales, Tenant and Landlord Representation, Capital, Insurance, Management and Valuation.

JLT Re Inc., a global provider of reinsurance broking and consultancy, has appointed Scott Fields as senior vice president in Atlanta. Fields will be part of the Workers’ Compensation unit, and will focus on the continued expansion and development of JLT Re’s Casualty Practice.

Fields’ was most recently with Willis Re, where he served as senior vice president and as a member of the Casualty and Workers’ Compensation practices. Prior to Willis Re, Fields worked as senior vice president at Guy Carpenter.

JLT Re is part of the Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc. Jardine Lloyd Thompson provides reinsurance and employee benefits-related advice, brokerage and associated services.

Lockton has named Peter Schmitz senior vice president and Aviation Practice leader as part of a significant long-term investment in its aviation risk management operations. Lockton, a global, privately held, independent insurance broker, plans to expand its services to firms across the spectrum of the aviation industry.

Schmitz has 31 years of experience in the aviation insurance industry. He will build on Lockton’s existing aviation teams in the U.S. and London. Most recently, Schmitz was CEO of Aon’s Global Aviation Specialty business. He has also been a leader in Marsh’s US Aviation Specialty operations.

Schmitz began his career as a commercial pilot, later transitioning to become an aviation insurance underwriter. Schmitz will be based in Lockton’s South Florida operation in Miramar.

American Strategic Insurance (ASI), has promoted Jessica Peskin to vice president of Marketing for ASI’s Builders division in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Peskin formerly served as an account executive for ASI’s National Accounts team.

Peskin is responsible for business development through regional and national builders and will lead a team of representatives supporting the builders she brings on board.

ASI functions as an insurance group with multiple insurance companies under a common umbrella. The ASI group’s parent company is ARX Holding Corp.

The ASI group includes five Florida-domiciled insurance companies. It offers personal lines residential property insurance, commercial lines property insurance, personal umbrella insurance, flood and excess flood insurance. ASI is also a Write-Your-Own Flood Insurance provider for the National Flood Insurance Program.

RFIB Group Limited, the international Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Glenn Jackson as a managing director of RFIB Americas. He takes up his position with immediate effect reporting to Nick Foden-Pattinson and will be based in the Tampa, Fla., office.

Jackson brings 11 years of experience in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market to RFIB. He joins from Beach Re, formerly known as Axiom Re, where he served as a senior vice president.

Jackson began his reinsurance career in 1982 at Intere Intermediaries, before holding a series of reinsurance broking positions, including at Aon Re and Willis Re.

RFIB is an independent international insurance and reinsurance broker. It is headquartered in London with eight offices around the world.

Olympus Insurance Co., a Florida homeowners’ insurer, has appointed Martin Newby as vice president of Claims.

Newby will serve as Olympus’ senior claims executive responsible for the development, implementation, organization and leadership of the Olympus claims programs and initiatives. He brings more than 28 years of claims and operations experience.

Newby began his claim management career with State Farm Insurance Co.

Prior to joining Olympus, Newby served as president of Texas-based CIS Claim Services, an independent adjusting company servicing many Florida clients, including Citizens Property Insurance Corp.

Headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and founded in 2007, Olympus Insurance Co. specializes in Florida property insurance.
