H.J. Knight International Insurance Agency, a Braintree, Mass.-based full service brokerage firm specializing in insurance and risk management solutions, has named Joscelyn Urnek to the newly created position of director of claims.

In this role, she will oversee, analyze and evaluate the claims and loss control process for the firm’s captive clients. This comes as the firm has seen

continued growth in its captive program, Executive Vice President Matt Lanza said in a company press release.

Prior to joining Knight International, Urnek was a resolution manager for Gallagher Bassett Inc., a claims management and risk control firm that operates worldwide. Her role included addressing claims, analyzing exposure and determining an appropriate settlement or claims resolution.

Hamilton USA, the Princeton, N.J.-based U.S. insurance arm of Hamilton Insurance Group, a Bermuda-based holding company for property/casualty insurance and reinsurance operations in Bermuda, the U.S. and at Lloyd’s, has appointed Michael Garceau chief operating officer.

He will report to CEO Seraina Macia in his new role, in which Garceau will be responsible for the platform’s operations, IT and finance functions.

With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Garceau’s most recent position was chief operating officer of the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region at AIG.

Prior to AIG, Garceau was with XL Group.

Marsh has hired David Hewett as a U.S. contract surety leader in its construction practice.

In this newly created role, Hewett will work closely with Marsh’s surety practice to deliver solutions to construction clients across the U.S. He will report to David Marino, U.S. construction leader at Marsh. Hewett is based in Baltimore, Md.

Hewett brings 24 years of construction surety experience to Marsh. He most recently served as president of XL Surety, and prior to that, he worked at Zurich North America Insurance. While there, he served as executive vice president leading its North American domestic surety operations.

World Insurance Associates LLC, an independent insurance agency headquartered in Tinton Falls, N.J., has appointed Howard Margolies as principal, senior vice president and head of the benefits division.

This comes after World Insurance Associates recently entered the employee benefits business with two employee benefits acquisitions completed and several more in the pipeline as it works to become a full service agency.

In his new role, Margolies will work to manage the company’s business plan and help it to achieve its goals going forward.

Prior to joining World Insurance Associates, Margolies served as CEO of an employee benefits managing general agent. Before that, he was the head of small business in the state of New York for United Healthcare.

Argo Pro, a Jersey City, N.J.-based member of specialty insurance and reinsurance underwriter Argo Group International Holdings Ltd., has appointed Richard Edsall to serve as senior vice president of commercial management liability. In this role, Edsall will report to Craig Landi, president of Argo Pro.

Following his appointment, Edsall will be responsible for growing the nationwide commercial management liability business at Argo Pro, managing the commercial brokerage relationships for management liability and growing the cyber and privacy business with Argo’s management liability clients.

He brings more than 29 years of underwriting experience to his new role, joining Argo Group from Chubb & Son. While at Chubb & Son, he served as vice president and worldwide directors and officers liability product manager for its financial institutions and deputy U.S. commercial directors and officers products. Edsall also served as vice president and insurance industry product manager at Chubb & Son.

Prior to joining Chubb & Son in 2001, he served as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer at Global Specialty Risk.
