Morrison Mahoney LLP, a litigation firm, is expanding its Workers’ Compensation and General Liability Team in Providence, R.I., by adding two attorneys.

Jonathan R. Myhre joined the team last December, and Joelle M. Hays joined in January.

Myhre has experience in several areas of the law, including general and professional liability, as well as asbestos litigation. After law school, he was invited to serve as a law clerk for the U.S. Virgin Islands Supreme Court. Following his clerkship, Myhre joined Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

Hays, a partner, specializes in defending workers’ compensation claims on behalf of employers, self-insureds, third-party administrators and insurance carriers before all levels of the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court.

Erie Insurance, an Erie, Penn.-based homeowners and automobile insurer, has named Ann Carlin as vice president of First Notice of Loss and Customer Service Ops & Strategy. Carlin has served in this role on an interim basis since March 2018.

Carlin has nearly 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. She began her career at Erie Insurance as a part-time policy processor and first notice of loss representative.

In 2000, she began working full-time as an inside claims representative and was later promoted to supervisor. In 2011, Carlin made the move to Customer Care Operations, holding several leadership roles including her most recent role as director of Contact Center Operations.

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, a retail property and casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage and consulting firm, has hired Diane Montelione as a senior vice president in its Financial Risk Practice.

She will be based in New York and report to its managing principal and Financial Risk Practice leader, Michael Klaschka.

Montelione’s primary responsibilities will include providing risk management advisory and insurance brokerage services to a book of financial services and commercial clients, with a particular emphasis on directors and officers, errors and omissions, fiduciary and cyber liability, as well as fidelity bonds.

Prior to joining EPIC, Montelione was a senior vice president at Marsh Inc., where she served for nearly 30 years as a management liability insurance broker with experience in both U.S. and international markets.

Alliant has hired Philadelphia, Penn.-based Matt Corcoran as a vice president. In this role, he will provide integrated insurance and risk management services to a range of clients as Alliant continues to strengthen its presence in the life sciences space.

Throughout his career, Corcoran has gained experience working with clients in a range of industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, contract manufacturing and healthcare-related technology, as well as healthcare-focused venture capital and private equity firms.

Prior to joining Alliant, Corcoran served as Emerging Life Sciences leader within the Philadelphia office of a global insurance brokerage firm. While there, he grew and serviced a portfolio of clients with both national and international operations.

In a separate move, Alliant hired Philadelphia, Penn.-based John Zukus as vice president. In this role, Zukus will provide targeted risk management and insurance services to Alliant’s portfolio of clients throughout the Eastern U.S.

Throughout his career, Zukus has worked for large insurance brokerage firms and financial services companies to gain experience delivering captive insurance programs to clients. He has experience working with clients spanning a range of industries.

Headquartered in Newport Beach, Calif., Alliant Insurance Services Inc. provides property and casualty, workers’ compensation, employee benefits, surety and financial products and services to clients nationwide, including public entities, tribal nations, healthcare, energy, law firms, real estate, construction and other industry groups.

The MEMIC Group, a Portland, Maine-based workers’ compensation specialist, has appointed Lara Heal to director of Managed Care Services. It also promoted Karen Flaherty to director of Financial Operations and Kristen Wintle to director of Compensation and Benefits.

Heal has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with 10 years as a director of Case Management and Vocational Rehab Services at Unum.

Flaherty first joined MEMIC in 1995 as a financial accountant and was promoted in 2015 from senior accountant to manager of Financial Accounting Operations.

Wintle joined MEMIC in 1996 as a human resources coordinator and became payroll administrator in 2002.
