The New York State Insurance Department and a number of leading insurance companies will hold an information forum for residents and business owners affected by the World Trade Center disaster at 6:00 PM today in The Regatta, Community Room – 21 South End Avenue (W. Thames St. Entrance).
The meeting, organized by Timothy S. Carey, President and CEO of the Hugh L. Carey Battery Park Authority, will address questions from downtown residents and business owners regarding insurance claims related to Sept. 11. Spanish speaking representatives from the NYSID will be available to assist members of the city’s Spanish speaking community.
Insurance company delegates from State Farm, Chubb, Allianz, Travelers, Allstate and Liberty Mutual will answer questions regarding homeowner’s, renters and automobile insurance. Other representatives of these companies, along with a delegate from Zurich, will answer the questions of business owners and landlords regarding commercial property and business interruption claims. More companies are also expected to send representatives.
