Gregory E. Murphy, chairman, president and CEO of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. headquartered in Branchville NJ, has announced a number of senior executive promotions:
Details of the promotions are as follows :
–Dale A. Thatcher, CPA, CPCU, (Sparta, NJ) to executive VP and CFO of Selective Insurance Group, Inc., from Sr.VP and CFO of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. Thatcher, joined Selective in 2000 as Sr. VP and CFO. He’s responsible for the company’s overall financial areas, as well as investor relations. Previously, he was chief accounting officer with Ohio Casualty Insurance Company.
–Ronald J. Zaleski, FCAS, MAAA, (Byram, NJ) to executive VP and chief actuary of Selective Insurance Group, Inc., from Sr. VP and chief actuary of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. Zaleski joined Selective in 1999 as VP and chief actuary with responsibility for the company’s actuarial operations, including analysis, pricing and reserving, financial planning and state filings. Prior to joining Selective, he was a vice president and actuary with TIG Insurance Company.
–Debra P. Carter, (Branchville, NJ), to Sr. VP and human resources director of Selective Insurance Group, Inc., from VP and director of human resources of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. She joined Selective in 1980 as a personnel assistant, and was promoted to assistant VP in 1987 and named vice president in 1993. Carter is responsible for the company’s human resources initiatives, including staffing, diversity, compensation, benefits and personnel systems.
–Sharon R. Cooper, CPCU, (Sparta, NJ) to Sr.VP and director of corporate communication of Selective Insurance Group, Inc., from VP and director of corporate communication of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. Cooper joined Selective in 2000 as VP, director of communication, and has responsibility for the company’s communication strategy and initiatives, marketing and advertising. Before coming to Selective, she was director of media relations for the Allstate Corporation, and previously a news reporter, anchor and producer.
