The Insurance Brokers Association of New York, which represents the interests of New York’s leading commercial insurance producers on both professional development and legislative and regulatory matters, announced that it has retained Michael V. Barrett, President of Barrett Associates, an Albany-based lobbying firm, to serve as the organization’s new legislative representative.
“Barrett has specialized in legislative and regulatory consulting for over 20 years. Barrett Associates has successfully represented a number of companies, organizations and associations on a variety of legislative issues including insurance, telecommunication, health care, commercial construction, and economic development,” said the bulletin.
Barrett commented “I am pleased to be working with the Insurance Brokers Association of New York. With extensive experience in the commercial insurance industry, IBANY is a valuable resource in the development of legislative and regulatory issues.”
“Barrett is well-known and currently represents a variety of insurance-related clients and as such, he is uniquely qualified to represent IBANY in the legislature, the Insurance Department and the Governor’s officer,” stated IBANY President Dick Impastato. “We look forward to working with him to represent IBANY member views with lawmakers and regulators.”
