Protector Group CEO Robert J. Vaudreuil Named as MAIA Board Chairman

Robert J. Vaudreuil, president and CEO of The Protector Group Insurance Agency, Inc., one of New England’s largest independent insurance agencies, has been elected chairman of the board of The Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents.

The MAIA is the “leading trade association for over 1,700 Massachusetts independent agencies and their estimated 15,000 employees,” said the announcement. Vaudreuil , who currently serves as MAIA vice chairman, will assume his new position on January 1, 2004.

The bulletin noted that he is “a certified public accountant with more than 15 years experience in the insurance industry,” and “brings comprehensive management expertise to his new position. Vaudreuil joined The Protector Group Insurance Agency, Inc., in 1988 as treasurer. In 1990, he became chief operating officer, and in 1994 assumed his current position of president and CEO. Under his management, Protector Group Insurance has enjoyed steady growth, expanding from 30 to 90- plus employees at its Worcester headquarters and Wellesley, Leominster and Millbury offices.”

“I expect a busy and successful year ahead,” Vaudreuil commented. “MAIA will continue working hard to advocate on behalf of the dedicated insurance professionals in our state.”
