December 23, 2003

A bulletin from the Young Agents Council (YAC) of the Independent Insurance Agents of New Jersey notes that members have “spread holiday cheer by donating gifts to foster children this season through The Foster Parents’ Club of the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey.”

The report said “There were nine foster children ranging in ages from one month to three years, the children were treated to a warm and generous holiday thanks to donations of new clothing and toys specifically chosen for each child.”

It also noted that the, The Children’s Home Society was founded in 1894 as a nonprofit organization “that helps at-risk infants, children, youth, and families achieve their potential. They protect abused or neglected infants and children, strengthen families, and strive for stable, permanent, and loving homes.”

Commenting on the program, YAC President Ann Havran of the Havran Family Insurance Agency in Dunellen, stated, “The Young Agents Council of IIANJ has had a long history of adopting different types of charities during various holidays. This Christmas we are able to reach out to several foster children in the Mercer county area. I can’t think of a better time to share with children in need.”
