SIAA Notes Purchase of N.Y. Agency by Treiber Group

The Strategic Independent Agents Alliance, the largest network of partnering independent insurance agencies in the U.S., announced that The Treiber Group, LLC of Garden City, N.Y. has purchased Insurance Agents Alliance of Long Island, the SIAA Master Agency covering Nassau, Queens and Suffolk counties.

The SIAA noted that the Treiber Group has been in business since 1899, and is nationally rated in the Top 100 brokers. It writes “$132,000,000 in premium and in 2003 grew by $23,000,000 in new business. The Treiber Group is comprised of four divisions: Standard Commercial Lines, Special Risk Unit (E&S), Personal Lines, and Small Business Unit.”

President Scott Treiber stated: “We looked at our long-term business plan and we felt SIAA was a strategic fit with our growth and marketing focus for not only today, but also well into the future. This type of operation integrates well with what Treiber has excelled at for so many years.”

John Paterno, Vice President of the Agency Division, will manage the Insurance Agents Alliance of Long Island Master Agency network.

SIAA Chairman Jim Masiello indicated that the “Treiber Group is joining our international network because of their size, diversity and penetration in the New York market, especially Long Island, and will provide significant advantages to the Member Agencies. The market access that Treiber provides will enhance the growth of the Master Agency network Members. We see this as a mutually advantageous partnership for The Treiber Group and SIAA.”
