Colemont Promotes Two to Senior Management Team in Hartford

Colemont Hartford has promoted Mike Cassidy and Woody Baird to senior vice presidents.

While they each will have specific new responsibilities they will also be working together with Hartford President John Willsey to share the overall management and strategic planning responsibilities for the Connecticut office.

Cassidy is now senior vice president for market relations and will be responsible for maintaining and developing strong relationships with
Colemont’s casualty markets. He will also continue to market and service commercial casualty accounts.

Cassidy joined Colemont in 2000. Prior to his employment at Colemont, he was with The Watson Group and previously held underwriting positions at CNA, Home Insurance, and St. Paul.

Baird will assume the role of senior vice president for sales. In his new role, Baird will oversee and manage Colemont-Hartford’s growing team of brokers, and will also continue to be responsible for the marketing and production of commercial property and casualty accounts.

Before Baird joined Colemont last year, he was with Arthur J. Gallagher & Company’s Hartford office for 16 years. He has also served as president of Gow & Hanna, Inc. of Connecticut and began his insurance career at CG/Aetna in the corporate management training program.

Colemont Insurance Brokers is ranked among the top five largest specialty insurance brokers in the United States. Founded in 1992, the company is now home to 400 insurance professionals across the country, who together placed $1 billion in gross premium last year.
