Chicago-headquartered CNA Financial Corporation appointed Bill Donovan as vice president of its Hartford, Conn., branch.

In this role, Donovan is responsible for synchronizing branch operations with CNA’s strategic goals, including increasing local authority at the point of sale and improving service to agents and brokers in these territories.
Donovan has 27 years of industry experience including property/casualty insurance marketing, underwriting and field management. He joins CNA from The Hartford Insurance Group, where he served as regional vice president responsible for the sales execution, profit, talent and agency management of its Northern New England regional office. Previously, he held various senior-level marketing roles at New Hartford, N.Y.-headquartered Utica National Insurance Group.
Founded in 1897, CNA is the country’s seventh-largest commercial insurance writer and the 13th-largest property/casualty company. CNA’s insurance products include standard commercial lines, specialty lines, surety, marine and other property and casualty coverages. CNA’s services include risk management, information services, underwriting, risk control and claims administration.
