Philadelphia Insurance Hires 2 Underwriting Vice Presidents

Philadelphia Insurance Companies announced the hiring of Ziad Kubursi as senior vice president of specialty lines and Karen Votta as vice president of large accounts for commercial lines.

Ziad Kubursi will lead the company’s management and professional liability division, which includes cyber security liability, non-profit directors and officers liability, and media liability products. Kubursi brings to his post 15 years of experience, including 10 years at Chartis and AIG in various positions. He also worked at Marsh & McLennan as vice president for financial products.

Votta will focus on innovative account management standards of strategy, underwriting and profitability for the company’s large account portfolio of commercial lines business, initially centering on the niche markets of human and public Services. Votta brings over 20 years of experience to her new role, including nine years with Chartis and AIG in various casualty leadership positions. She also worked at ACE serving as vice president for primary and excess casualty. Votta is a licensed P&C broker in Pennsylvania.
