Smith Brothers Insurance LLC, an independent agency based in Glastonbury, Connecticut, announced that it has acquired the assets of Carillo & Howland Inc., an agency with locations in Windsor Locks and Somers, Connecticut. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Smith Brothers said Carillo & Howland will maintain its offices and staff at their Windsor Locks and Somers locations, and will operate as an affiliate and branch of Smith Brothers.
Jared Carillo and Chris Howland, the two principals from Carillo & Howland, will take on leadership positions and become principals at Smith Brothers, the announcement said.
Carillo will be transitioning into director of Personal Lines and Small Commercial Lines for Smith Brothers and its affiliates, and will become a member of the senior leadership team. Howland will continue serving clients and building new business, in addition to mentoring young insurance producers and facilitating book successions of retiring producers.
