XS Brokers Announces 5 New Hires in Massachusetts

XS Brokers, a wholesale brokerage based in Quincy, Massachusetts, announced the following five new hires.

Sean McVicker joined XS as broker. McVicker comes from AmTrust E&S where he was casualty broker placing general liability accounts including higher hazard contractors, OLT (owners, landlords, and tenants) exposures and products liability risks. He will work in XS’s brokerage team placing moderate to high hazard type risks including environmental.

Amy O’Donnell joined as new business marketing specialist. O’Donnell comes from Brownstone Insurance with a habitational underwriting program background where she spent the past 19 years as the lead underwriter on various lines including apartments, condominiums and other OLT-type risks. In her new role, she will help support various production underwriters at XS Brokers on placing new business as well as cultivating existing retail agency clients.

Elizabeth “Liz” Mulhearn joined as underwriter. Mulhearn comes from Harleysville Insurance after 10 years where she rose through the ranks to be a lead underwriter in their middle market division underwriting property/casualty lines and building retail agent relationships. She will underwrite her own book of business and be working with her longstanding retail agency client base on their E&S needs.

Josh Burke has been hired as underwriter. Burke comes to XS with over 15 years of insurance experience, most recently at AIG where he oversaw and managed a large portfolio of personal lines products for the past eight years. He will be underwriting his own book of business and working with retail agency clients.

April Skala has been hired as broker. Skala joins XS with over 20 years of retail agency insurance experience. She will work in the brokerage unit on moderate to high hazard risk placements and supporting the brokerage team overall.
